Courtyard by Marriott Johnson City

There was no hot water in the morning and I overheard a staff member say that it was a known issue. Maintenance had called someone earlier in the week to get it fixed but it had not been fixed as of yet. Being on a timeline and needing to shower, and paying nearly $200 with taxes and fees, not having hot water for a shower is not acceptable. It finally got fixed, but I was late to the event I was in town for. Also, mold/ mildew in the shower is not acceptable or safe. I also feel that paying this much, a breakfast would have been included. I was highly disappointed and will never stay at a courtyard again.

No hot water. 2 rooms for 2 nights for over $600.00. \ Check in was good. Our request of two king rooms with one handicap accessible was granted. That was the only good thing. Saturday morning no hot water. We took cold showers. Notified the front desk. She said they had to reset the water heater. Second morning. No hot water. Front desk said the same thing when I called. We had to go someplace else to shower. Wasn't going to shower in cold water again. I called and they said I was told when we booked that they were remodeling and that we agreed to it. That we booked through Expedia and to call them to complain. I knew they were remodeling, but when I called the hotel to confirm, I mentioned the remodeling, and they said it wouldn't be an issue. When we went to the dining area on our first morning, another guest told us they hoped we weren't in any hurry, that she had been waiting for 45 minutes. We just left. We chose a Marriott property, because we didn't know the area, and figured we couldn't go wrong with them. We will know better next time.

The room was fairly clean and the staff were exceptional.

The room was in desperate need of remodel as everything including the office chair and the sofa were incredibly worn down. The mattress was not very comfortable either as it was very hard.

It was Ok. They randomly charged us $24 for what the front desk ended up calling “incendentials” that felt sneaky and underhanded. Also no vending machines if you want a water or something be prepared to pay $5 for each. Also the pool wasn’t open and no hot tub.

It was a lovely room, however the toilet was extremely low and there was no grab bar or anything to hold onto. The Kleenex container was empty and there was no extra toilet tissue. You should not have to run around to get these basic things.

Property was good.

I find the hotel to be clean and quiet. The front desk folks are accomodating, especially Misty. It is nice that a good restaurant is next door. Just a walk acorss the parking lot. I must be in JC about 8 times a year and I always stay the Courtyard.
