Shewe Wana Suite Resort

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at Shewe Wana. We stayed during New Year's 2014 and found the service to be top notch. We were in a suite which had enough space for more than just us two, but was well worth the money, privacy, and amenities offered. We had the opportunity to see the other rooms offered on the other side of the boutique and they were just that....a room with little amenities. Just pay up for a better experience. The food offered was better than most restaurants that we ate at and the location to the square in Chiang Mai was out far enough to be quiet, but within walking distance or a short tuk tuk ride.

Away from main area of Chiang Mai. No shopping area nearby. Night markets about 5 minutes by car. Staff were great very friendly and helpful. We had 2 bedroom suit. Rooms were done in Thai dark wood. We were on third floor and our room looked out over pool but also rooftops of old buildings. The beds were very hard but they did put something under sheets to try to soften beds, The furniture was very hard to sit on and not comfortable at all. Garden areas very tranquil.

We enjoyed our stay at the Shewe Wana. The staff were absolutely amazing. The hotel is not well located and there is nothing to do in the area but the outstanding service made up for this, The gardens are beautifully cared for and the swimming pools are clean and inviting. All in all, an enjoyable stay.

This is a wonderful oasis in town,so beautiful. The staff are wonderful, welcoming and friendly. They love families and children. They were all so kind and caring. The owner is a lovely person, who takes great pride in this lovely place. Our suite was lovely. Breakfast for Kings and Queens. Great value food, and yummy. Had my favourite Pad Thai, and it was yum. We all had a wonderful stay there and would highly recommend it. We hope to go back ourselves. They also provide a bus/tuk tuk to take you to the markets which are wonderful. There are some great local markets close by too. Their soaps and shampoos are lovely too, and you can buy them. Again we highly recommend staying in this lovely little oasis. Thank you :D

Not a new hotel but really well maintained. The staff are delightful and very helpful. Breakfasts are good. Very comfortable and has a certain charm. Shame about the matresses.....hardest we've ever experienced. Slightly spoilt what was otherwise a very comfortable stay. Location a bit far from old centre of town but plenty of transport.Would definately consider staying again.

We stayed here as a family of 5 and the hotel was a beautiful oasis in an industrial rather ugly area of Chiang Mai. The breakfast was delicious and the gardens gorgeous, but its' location is less than ideal as it's not very close to the center of Chiang Mai and the area all around the hotel is industrial - an area mainly for buying automobile supplies. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the service is excellent, the rooms spacious and tastefully appointed in Thai style.

exotically done up hotel - gives the feel of being in the midst of dense forest - swimming pool water could have been temperature-controlled though - was chilled water despite the hot temperature outside; the staff were extremely forthcoming in serving our breakfast in room at no extra charge when we were late to make it to the restaurant - at no extra charge; The room service even otherwise was very prompt.

We were comfortable but the furniture in our 2 bedroom suite needed to be updated. Bathrooms were very modern. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is not in the best neighborhood but not too far from the river, night market or the old city and the front desk staff were very helpful in getting transportation.

I can't say enough about the staff at the Shewe Wana. I travel a lot and stay in a lot of hotels so I'm used to good staff. Shewe Wana leaves all of them in the dust. First, the hotel is gorgeous. It makes you feel like you're transported elsewhere though you're on a busy road. I liked walking in the doors and feeling like i was on a tropical island somewhere. It's a short walk to town or there are hotel tuk tuks. We were there over NYE so I appreciated that we weren't in town itself. The experience really was made one of a kind by the care that Joy and her staff provided. They were so attentive; checking on us everyday to make sure we were enjoying our stay, providing treats at breakfast and dinner if we remarked on a preference for something. One morning our tour came an hour early while we were eating breakfast and Joy immediately took care of everything, packing to go boxes so we could still eat. The same thing for my friend who had to leave early before breakfast opened; even without us asking, she arranged for a to go bag. I felt more like I was visiting a family member than staying at a business and really I now can't imagine staying elsewhere in Chiangmai.
