This place is great for us, but it's not for everybody. Lots of stuff is worn or inexpensive stuff, and the décor might be charitably described as eclectic. But it's right on the malecon and in a safe neighborhood. I've been here twice and I'm not looking for anywhere else. Lots of backpackers. One step up from a hostel.

Some shared rooms do not have AC, only a small standing fan which, if you’re in the top bunk bed, does not reach you. Shared bathroom in one of the floors did not have running water.

The property had great staff fluent in English, I saw an art class getting taught there one day as I kept going in and out of the room seeing the attractions around the Hostel, I was pleasantly surprised as I booked on the spot via Expedia at a hostel that morning in Salinas

Central location very good and staff were most helpful. Breakfast was only bread with jam and one had to pay for extra options.

"Not perfect but Nice"

8.0

It was very comfortable and I slept really well. The bathroom I had was huge. The service was good and the day staff were easy to talk English to. They are doing some remodeling next door and, I believe, that is causing some problems with baby roaches running around. Be sure to close your luggage and cosmetic bags. The location is very good. Easy to walk to restaurants and little stores. I would stay there again.

We asked for 2 rooms, with 2 beds. We got the cocoa room, which was great, then the other was on the 4th floor on the roof, walking thru wires, to the back at night, no lights, and very noisy!
