Baba Palace - A Heritage Hotel, Udaipur

Great location and staff was super friendly and helpfull.

Probably one of the most comfortable sleeps I have had in this trip! Love the clean sheets and reasonable pillows! The reception staff was very accommodating in helping me select the right room option. The restaurant on the 4th floor terrace offers a great view of the busy intersection below and the Jagdish temple. Breakfast included in the room rate was quite fine!

- Considering its “premium” accommodation status, the hotel would benefit from better maintenance and general housekeeping (to fix issues such as rotten bathroom door, toilet bowl needing thorough brushing/clean, spiderweb on walls, etc.). - The additional credit card payment surcharge of 2.5% needs to be made very clear in email correspondence to guests. The above comments are just areas for improvement. The issue below is significant in my book: - The restaurant manager was kind enough in offering me some sandwiches and fruits as breakfast to take with me for my 7am departure (it needs to be mentioned that breakfast at the hotel starts from 8am, with staff starting their shifts at 7am). He even followed up with a phone call for assurance. I also talked with another restaurant staff the night before to ensure the breakfast would be available for me to collect at 7am. I was very well aware that they did me a favour. Yet, at 7am the next morning, I went up to the restaurant to collect the breakfast pack, but it was not there. The only kitchen staff on shift did not know anything about it! While I appreciated the favour (and would have been fine had the restaurant said no to earlier breakfast arrangement), I would always have issues with unkept promises. It pains me to downgrade my personal overall rating of my stay at Baba Palace from 9 to just 7 because of this.

The best part of the stay is location, it is at the centre of all major places. The people are very friendly and will go beyond duty to help. I had left my sweater and they couriered to my place.

The prices could have been a bit less.

Location was good as everything was near for shopping, transport.

Check out timing has to be 12 pm, breakfast menu has to be increased.

Friendly staff, nice rooftop restaurant where they don’t speak English very well but were always helpful

At first the noise from the temple right across the street drove me to distraction (05:45!!!) but got used to it.

Lot of noises from the outside vehicles in day time

Location is very near to City Palace, Jagdish Temple and Bagora ki Haveli.

It is OK for my requirement.
