Romantik Hotel Zell am See

Just such a lovely family hotel. Everything you would hope for. The food, the staff, the location are all perfect. Big comfy beds, excellent shower. Great Spa. Bars around but not noisy at all. The Crazy Daisy across the street has live bands most nights to. Warm & welcoming!

As a general rule we have been more than happy with our stay. The staff are friendly the Spa is extremely nice and the location is excellent. One massive downside, if you are coming and are given room 404 GET MOVED. I complained about the noise every morning, the room is over the kitchen, and was bizarrely told I could not be hearing anything as the kitchen do not start work until 9am. We go to breakfast at 8am and are one of the last!!!! I was offered a new room at a supplement as apparently I knew what I was booking. The adjoining rooms are not above kitchen and cannot hear anything. So in conclusion a lovely Hotel but not room 404

We couldn't wait to return 'home' this year after unfortunately having to miss our ski holiday last year. As always, the hotel was fantastic. We stayed during a week when the hotel was fully booked, so we expected a busy week, but you'd never know - there was just a lovely, calm feeling - from check-in through to departure, we just relaxed the whole time. Our room was lovely, it is one of the smaller rooms in the front of the building, and the standard of room cleaning was fantastic - the room fairies were certainly the best. For us, the highlights of our week away are seeing the staff and Family Horl, enjoying the food and having a nice relax in the sauna - all three wishes came true! The only disappointment was that Sabine was poorly and away convalescing, but we kept in touch with her via social media and Werner and Anna, so although we missed seeing Sabine, we did manage to 'speak'. The staff throughout the hotel are great - too many to mention without leaving someone out, but as mentioned, the room fairies are top of their game, the restaurant staff are efficient, friendly and helpful - if it is possible, even during this busy week, they seemed even more efficient - we felt like VIP's but that's why we come here, the service is wonderful. We loved our time in the sauna, at the end of every day we relaxed in the Emotion spa, lovely and quiet and almost like having our own spa, with steam baths and saunas and an infrared cabin. We both agreed that somehow, despite the always high standards, the food this year was even better - we had lamb one night which was amazing, another night a thick tuna steak, cooked perfectly - the salad buffet is plentiful, the cheeses amazing, and the service always great - and as everyone knows, my treat is the breakfast - I cannot praise Erica enough, or the two omelette chefs (one was a young man who was as good as his mentor, who has been there for decades). We had a new table position this year, a change from our usual table but even nicer, with the same great views of the garden. We joined the ice curling evening, organised by Werner at the leisure Centre, always great fun, and we enjoyed seeing Walter again and having a Gluhwein on the welcome evening. A special thanks to the reception staff too, who really help and look after you, and of course Anna and Werner who are everywhere and the best hosts you could hope for. One final treat on departure day, or depression day as we call it, was seeing Josef again before we left - he is fantastic! We had a lovely send off from him, and we cannot wait to come back, to feel pampered, relaxed and happy! Thank you to the whole hotel, and we hope Sabine is taking it easy now that you are back home.

Overall, i would highly recommend. A lovely hotel, staff are very nice and food is excellent and spa is just perfect and family suitable. Breakfast was well done with a large selection. On return from the slopes there was a light snack ready everyday from 4:30 to 5pm sharp. We were half board, the evening diver was good, even for the most fussy of eaters there was always something to choose. Location, it is right in the town center, 50mtres from Après bars and restaurant, for nightlife and restaurants you could not be closer. The only downside is it’s a long walk from hotel to the city Xpress for ski lifts, very comber some in ski boot and it’s uphill all the way, but you can rent a locker at city xpress to avoid the long walk in ski boots. There is a shuttle from hotel but it only started at 9am and we wanted to be skiing at 8:30am when the lifts opened. As I said, it did not bother us as we were prepared and knew about this before hand as we have been to Zell Am See several times, I am just pointing it out for other families that it’s a long walk in ski boots. Thanks to the hotel for a lovely stay.

From the warm welcome from the reception staff, through to the kindness of N who looked after our room, to the friendliness of A and E in the dining room, the Romantik is homely, efficient and delightful. It was our second visit and we already plan a third!

This is a fantastic hotel, whether for family or couples' holidays. It has been run by the same family for generations and this shows through in the attention to detail, friendliness of staff, great bedrooms/bathrooms, food and spa facilities/pool area. Each year that we come back something has been updated or improved. Excellent value for the price. Zell am See is a picture-postcard lovely town on a lake and the hotel is perfectly located for getting to the main ski areas (5 minutes walk from gondola, main bus station (for glacier at Kaprun and Schmittenhohe) and train station. (direct train to Salzburg).

This was such a wonderful family run hotel. The attention to detail and homely atmosphere was so authentic. We had the local choir and brass band on Christmas Eve to help celebrate. The food and service was excellent with lots of choice and good quality home made fare. The owners Sabine, Werner, their children and Grandfather were ever present welcoming guests. We had a fantastic waitress Anita who really made our stay with her sharp wit and good humour. Patrick, Anil and the bar staff were always pleasant and helpful. The hotel is located in the centre of the town and this really facilitated easy access to the city express gondola for Skiing. We hope to return next year again after this wonderful experience. Thanks to all for such fantastic memories.

Grande parte da minha decisão em reservar este hotel foi a piscina externa aquecida, para poder relaxar em um dia frio de inverno. No entanto a piscina não estava quente o suficiente, de maneira que não era possível permanecer nela na área externa. Avisamos a recepção mas mesmo assim não foi corrigida a temperatura da água da piscina

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Clean, good Location.

I'm going to be short and sweet this was a stay from family for my 70th birthday , for me here everything was excellent. I liked all the family and historic elements in decor. Food excellent. Staff friendly and professional. Location is close to many of Zell am see sights and to bus and train connections . Beds very comfortable. I used pools but not spa . Excellent cleaning staff. I can't wait to return . ❤️👍
