Riad Eldar

The location is incredible and the staff is super sweet and helpful. Khalid made our stay so easy and comfortable, he helped us find parking near the Riad, and was always available during our stay.

The hotel was nice.

The man from reception DISRESPECTFUL towards woman!!! I was in the Riad Eldar with my partner. On the last day of our stay, my partner left around 05:00 AM in the morning for his flight and right after he left, the man working at the Riad Eldar reception knocked to my room. I thought something bad happened to my partner so I quickly opened the door in my pyjama. He was always very nice to us but now he seemed stressed and anxious. We talked via Google Translator. At first he asked a question about my breakfast and then he said that I was the only one guest left in Riad. After that he was still typing another question and while doing that - he sat on my bed. I was standing at the door in shock, awake at 06:00 AM and trying to understand the situation. He was typing for a while, clearly struggling with the question and I started to be nervous and understanding the situation. The last question he typed was: Do you want to sleep now or have a little chat? I immediately said: SLEEP! I want to sleep, please. He said “Ok,ok.” And he quickly left the room. For the rest of the day, as I said I was on my own and I felt not safe there. I acted like nothing happened to the last minute at Riad because I was afraid. Before I left he still asked me about my partner and if we were married. I repeat, I was alone in my hotel room and a trusted man from reception came to my room, in excuse of asking important questions at first, to then lead me to this ambiguous situation. This is lack of respect in every sense. I felt very disturbed for days by this situation. He was so kind to my partner and me for the whole stay, but the moment my partner left, he used the situation to take advantage of me. It destroyed my perception of your country. I write this only to make you (the Owner) aware and to avoid that it happens to another woman in the future.

Location very good, being very close to the souks. Not far from the main road, but still very quiet. Breakfast very nice. The evening tagine meal in the Riad was one of the best we had in Marrakech. Room 5 was lovely, spacious and airy. Hosts not always around, but easily contactable on Whatsapp. And a member of staff always on site.

Room 1 was quite small and a bit dark. Hot water didn't work, but hopefully that will be sorted out. Top floor roof seating area was being redecorated when we were there, so we couldn't use it.

Tiny room, which was very cozy, but a bit expensive, in my opinion!

Breakfast was lovely and it was a good location, in the medina and 15 mins walk from the main square. Also very quiet inside. The air con worked well which was great as it was very hot.

There was no hot water. We spoke to the host who said he had fixed but he hadn’t. There was only one working plug socket. The room was not cleaned at all the whole time we were there, but towels were changed.

The Riad was a beautiful place to stay and was perfect for taking a rest from the noise and bustle of the city. It was peaceful and clean and was well maintained by the staff. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. He assisted us with all our inquiries and really made our stay feel comfortable. The breakfast was very nice and filling. The location was incredible as it was only a short walk to the main square and was prime position for all the shops and the famous coffee house. Great stay.

The room was a little small. I had booked a deluxe double bedroom but this was not reflected in the room. Maybe it was a staffing error. The building is also slightly tired looking and could do with some attention.
