"A Neighborhood Gem"

10.0

For the price and customer service, this place cannot be beat! The staff is beyond exceptional. The language barrier never deterred whoever was tending the front desk. They were patient and eager to please. After a day of mountain climbing, my room was spotless; with fresh towels and the shower had excellent water pressure. When I visit Quito again, I will definitely return to the Andino.

"Cheap, Spartan, Great Staff"

8.0

For a hotel that's only $30something per night, this is a great place. The rooms are very basic and what you would expect for a hotel of this price in Ecuador. The location is very close to all the bars and restaurants in the Mariscal. The staff is fantastic and goes out of their way to help arrange things like rental cars, cabs, info regarding local tourist activities, etc. They also have a free breakfast that's not bad. I would recommend this place to friends and family travelling to Quito.

"Outstanding breakfast, directions to places"

10.0

Mr. Miguel was outstanding in several aspects. He provided complete breakfasts that differed each morning with eggs, various bread, juice, etc. He was kind and attentive, giving individual specifics for directions to easily visit places. Rooms were lovely, spacious, and clean. We will definitely return on a future trip to Quito and recommend this place to others.

"OK for very brief stay and Backpackers"

4.0

No hot water in sink. Rooms clean and Miguel friendly and helpful, but rooms small and very basic. No hot tap water. OK basic, breakfast. Located in Mariscal - good for tourists, but some distance from city center. Convenient "Supermaxi" supermarket a few blocks away. Spend a few extra bucks and be comfortable.

"Nothing better for your money!!"

10.0

Hotel Andino is perfectly located in the out squirts of La Mariscal, the bohemian district of Quito. It is walking distant to Plaza Foch, the center of the nightlife in Quito, ecovia (metro buses) and lots of stores, SuperMaxxi (Ecuadorโ€™s upscale Safeway, QFC, Winn Dixie or Kroger) among those. The owner, Miguel Angel, is a wonderful person, he was always available and answered all our questions in a friendly and thorough way, definitely he made our stay very pleasant. The room was very basic but good enough, our bed sheets were replaced every single day!! It had cable and a decent size bathroom. They served a complete breakfast for free with refills!! The same type at Dennyโ€™s would cost about $10. Although tipping in Ecuador is not mandatory, I tipped the waitress every single morning. I like the family environment in the dining room, all guests greeted everybody else. Iโ€™ll definitely stay at Hotel Andino on my next visit to Quito.

"Close to Mariscal, Great ownert"

8.0

I have stayed at Andino quite a few times over the past several years, Miquel the owner is incredible, very helpful, speaks excellent English and knows the city exceptionally well. He will do just about anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It's 5 minutes walk to the Mariscal, but far enough away to be relaxing without the constant noise of the Mariscal. I'll be staying 4 nights over the next 2 weeks as I explore more of my new country.

"Right next to Mariscal district"

8.0

Right next to Mariscal district, although away from its noise. Next to pricier hotels, although this one is reasonably priced. It is also located next to the trolly which can take you just about any place you want to go, including Old Town. I did have an initial problem with my TV, which was promised with the room and needed in my case, since I was a lone woman traveler and had to be in my room once it got dark. It took some complaining to get another room where the TV worked, but that was very likely because the manager (who was incredibly helpful) was not on duty that night. It was taken care of and I enjoyed my stay.
