"Good budget hotel"

8.0

I an a solo traveler and stayed 4 nights in December. The hotel is located on a quiet street close to the Mariscal District. Miguel was very helpful with planning my day trips. Also on my last morning they prepared breakfast early as I had an early flight. My only concerns were that I had a very small room on the first night but Miguel switched me to a much larger room on nights 2 through 4, and that on my last night a group came it at about 2 AM and proceeded to slam doors and talk with loud voices for about an hour, which kept me from sleeping. Everything taken into consideration, the hotel was a good value, I would stay there again and would recommend it to others.

"Pleasant inexpensive hotel"

8.0

The hotel is conveniently located and clean and pleasant. The people were very helpful and friendly. It is a very cheap hotel, and for a budget conscious traveler it offers a great place to stay for a few nights. For students it would be a great alternative for the many hostels in the area.

"A Fine Place to Stay Economically"

10.0

Hotel Andino is very nice and the owner, Miguel is even nicer. Room 8, for example, is a nice little double-size bed w/ tv, shower and lots of light and window to open on the top floor. Breakfast is whatever eggs, bread, etc. you want cooked to order. There is a parking spot available, but you can walk to the new center of town a few blocks or 30 min. to old town. Good hot water.

"Best in class hotel! Hospitality is stellar!"

10.0

Andinos is an awesome hotel with the best staff I've ever seen. Most staff are bi-lingual and willing to help you out no matter what your needs are. Its close to a SuperMaxi and other stores. Their breakfast is made to order and fresh. Miguel, the owner, will go out of his way to help you, and will answer your emails very quickly (unlike the rest of Ecuador). We were flying into Quito from Miami and missed our flight because of the heat and our dog. Miguel had arranged for a van to pick us up at 7. It was so hot in Miami that our dog that was flying with us couldn't make the flight. We were rebooked for the 8 o'clock flight which meant landing and getting through customs well past midnight. I sent Miguel an email updating him on our situation, and sure enough the van for all our bags was waiting for us. After a stressful and long flight, it was good to know that Miguel and the staff at Andinos had our backs. We even learned some new Spanish words. Also while I was here, Miguel personally took someone who was ill to the hospital. Being this is our first time in Ecuador, I did not know what to expect. I was floored by this place and there sense of hospitality. WiFi was really fast here, and we were able to watch Netflix. Also, the staff was super friendly with our daughter. It was above and beyond anything you would see in America. This was an excellent place for our first time in Ecuador. (Reviewed by a family of 3 with a small dog.) A++++++++

"excellent personalized service"

10.0

My stay here was very enjoyable. Service was excellent and owner made us feel at home. Breakfast was very good and Miguel brought us a little something extra. He also offered to drive us to one of the museums himself when we hadn't arranged transportation. And we always had hot water unlike many hotels where we stayed in E-cuador. Would definitely stay here again.

"Practical"

10.0

I stayed in a nice room for a reasonable price. This is not a typical hotel building layout, but functional. If you are looking for a practical place to stay in a good location, then this is the one.

"They gave my room away!"

2.0

I arrived at the hotel only to be told that the hotel was full and there was no room for me. aAfter checking with someone inside the hotel (the door was chained shut) the taxi driver took me across the stret to another hotel. The young man at the desk did not know what to do with me! All the keys on the board behind him were gone! Finally after about 30 minutes I started to complain loudly. He found a key in a drawer, went to check out the room and when He returned he ledme to the room. It was OK and I spent the night. I will not use this hotel or your service in the future. You should remove them from your property list!

"Great place to stay in Quito"

10.0

We were picked up from the airport as arranged and delivered right to the front door. Our host, Miguel, was endlessly patient and helpful with helping us decide what to do and where to eat. His English is great. He also arranged for us to have a driver/guide on our second day who was a wonderful addition to our trip. Breakfast was delicious and made to suit our schedule. Delightful staff and good location - highly recommend!

"Hotel Andino Provides Warm Welcome and More!"

10.0

Stayed here for 9 hours before early flight to Pacific in mid-March. Owner Miguel was most gracious, amusing, and speaks Een-glaze very well. Room was small but adequate and both room and Bath were spotlessly clean. Although I left too early for breakfast, staff prepared a pot of coffee and a bunch of bannanas for me at 4:30 am, so I was prepared for my 5 am taxi and 6:30 fligh!! On my return to Quito for two nights in late March, I enjoyed the excellent breakfasts and observed Miguel and his whole staff go out of their way for other guests on a number of occasions. He is excellent at pointing out sights day trip and transportation options, and always has time to address guests wishes. Again my room and bath were spotless, aqua was strong and muy caliente, and staff hepful and friendly. Beds can seem small and mattresses a bit thin ( I had no problem sleeping; the Marriott and Swisshotel are both within 2 blocks at 6+ times the price...) Ecovia--rapid bus service for 25 cents--and SuperMaxi grocery are both within 3 blocks, as are a couple of indigene markets and restaurants of many categories; safe and walkable in daylight (though I had no problems after dark). You are close to Guayaamin Museum and also the cable-car up Mt Pichincha, and on the edge of La Mariscal entertainment quarter. Historic Central Quito is accessible from Ecovia or an inexpensive taxi ride (essential transport at night!). Miguel can even send a car so you will have your driver--with your name placard--waiting at the airport when you arrive! All in all, wonderful and welcoming option for travellers and visitors to this fascinating city--I look forward to my next stay at Andino!

"Welcoming, Clean & Convenient"

10.0

I stayed a total of 3 nights at Hotel Andino at the beginning and end of my most recent trip to Ecuador. The room and bathroom on both occasions were spotlessly clean and owner Miguel went above and beyond in ensuring a pleasant stay; he is always willing to consider special requests (not only my own!), an excellent source for travel and attraction information, and a fine speaker of "een-glaze" as well. The hotel is well located in N Quito not far from La Mariscal, with both the Ecovia (transit bus) line, a SuperMaxi (large grocery store) and numerous restaurants of all types within a 2- or 3-block walk. The included breakfasts were muy delicioso and the staff was friendly and helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Andino. You can travel a couple of blocks to the Marriott or Swisshotel( for 5+ times the price), but you you will not beat the service and value at Hotel Andino!
