Very kind owner and staff., no stress, had a good and friendly talking. Location was good (near to the lake).

There was no Fridge in the room....could not keep cold beer or soft drinks.

I used this hotel while working at the shipyard nearby, and this hotel is just a short walk away. The staff is very friendly and the rooms, however rustique, was up to standard.

The hotel could have a small shop in the lobby as the island Kaag does not have any shops at all. Aslo the room would be more comfortable with the ac working.

Very comfortable hotel, with cosy beds in a lovely and quiet little island. Beautiful scenery and friendly people. Breakfast was nice too.

Once you've crossed over onto the island, there are no local amenities apart from an Italian restaurant, which was lovely in terms of service and food.

It’s clearly an older hotel, but everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfasts were great, and the staff (especially the guy at breakfast) was superb. Keukenhof is close by, and Leiden is also a very nice city to visit. The "ferry" you take to the Kaag hotel is a fun curiosity for kids. It operates 24/7, is quick, and costs €5.50 per car (as of April 2025). Payment is made on the way back to the mainland.

Having to pay for the ferry every day can be a bit annoying, but overall, the experience is still very nice and worth recommending. There isn’t much to do on the island itself — originally, we planned to walk around it, but the circular path was closed due to bird nesting.
