Palacete Chafariz D'El Rei by Unlock Hotels

This is not like any hotel I have ever stayed at. This was more like going home and visiting family. Tiago and Chevier (probably spelled wrong) went out of their way to take care of us. We traveled far and were exhausted when we arrived before 10am. They quickly offered us breakfast while we waited for our room to be cleaned. They granted us entry to the room quickly. This is an older large home converted to a hotel with rooms. We stayed on the 3rd floor in the front facing suite. It was comfortable and had every amenity possible. I would stay here again and again. The breakfast was amazing and fresh juice and pastries can’t be beat. Breakfast on the terrace was like being in a movie. I chose the ride from the airport to the hotel by the driver service that they offered as I have read other drivers have had trouble finding it. It was a great experience all the way around.

A stunning unusual historic quirky masterpiece of a hotel. The service provided by the staff was uncommon and outstanding, never had such concerned and helpful staff in a hotel. The included breakfast was phenomenal. Really the best that Lisbon has to offer. the Alfama neighborhood is the perfect location. But be prepared for a walking and climbing and walking and climbing, and walking and climbing.

The property is exquisite. It is right along the water in Afalma, and extremely walkable. Rodrigo and Tiago are warm and welcoming hosts. Definitely recommend for travelers to Lisboa.

Really unique property. 6 rooms furnished in the old world style. Staff is amazing and will do pretty much anything to be helpful. You’re told to treat the place like your home and it felt like it was!

Deceptive advertising and not worth the money. While the building is eclectic and curious in its own way, it is not “luxurious”, “exclusive” or “refined”. To get there from our Uber we had to walk through a filthy entrance, strewn with trash and fragrant of urine. I booked one of the more elegant seeming rooms on their website, with hardwood floors and grand windows, but they placed us in a dank attic room three flights up (with to no elevator) with carpet, little light, old unattractive furniture, and no historical detail. They eventually offered to move us, but at this point it was too late in evening to pack up and relocate. The staff are kind and the location in Alfama is convenient, but this is a two star experience with four star prices.

This property is a historic building, so it’s very special. The views are unbeatable, the staff is exceptionally accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed our stay. There is one downside, which is it is a bit hard to find and not all the taxi drivers know the location and how to get to the entrance. Once you know, it is a great find.

This is an amazing property! You absolutely feel like a princess staying here and the Breakfast Service - Amazing. Staff were all so lovely and accommodating. Staying here is a real treat

Gorgeous historical building with fun features. Customer service was excellent. We had to leave for flight before breakfast time and they packed us a lovely box of goodies to take with us.

Absolutely beautiful! Great area for drinks and dining. All of the staff were excellent. On night the host walked us to a local restaurant to make sure we got there safely. Just a wonderful experience. Our first time in Lisbon and we will be back.
