Oselya Hotel

Hotel Oselya and the staff are completely amazing! Everytime I go back to Kiev in the future, I will definitely stay at this hotel. The are friendly, professional, and can handle nearly any request. The amenities are wonderful for any price.

I read the reviews and everyone else was right. It's a "guest house" located outside the city center. Most taxi drivers did not know it, so I had to have the address written to show them. The service staff are excellent, the room was beautiful (we stayed in the big room on the top floor - big, spacious, very nice). Breakfast was good, staff was accommodating and helpful and gave us everything we asked for. I hate to say anything bad because the people were so nice, but the location of this hotel just isn't convenient. I had stayed in the Hotel Rus the week before, and the location of it was good - they had a bar, restaurant, ATM machines, money change service, concierge, taxi service on-site and it was with a short walk to downtown Kiev. But the rooms were very small. So, if you prefer a more home-style environment, if a nice room and friendly staff and don't mind taking a taxi every time you need to go somewhere, Oselya is great. If you prefer more services inside the hotel (restaurant, bar, club, etc), or if you want to be more centrally located, Oselya won't be the best choice.

The Oselya Hotel is a great hotel to stay at in Kiev. It is an apartment style flat that has been converted to a small hotel. The pricing is very reasonable, and the type of comfort and standards that the hotel has is similar to a Hampton Inn or a Courtyard Inn. There is free WIFI, bottle water, good heating and cooling in the rooms. If you can afford it, for $20 more, I would recommend staying in a Junior Suite. Ohh, this is very important, the Oselya Hotel has very good prices for arranging pick up and drop offs (Transfers) from the airport. Most places and Taxis can drive you broke with rip off prices. So, I strongly recommend you contacting the Hotel to help with this. The only draw back to the hotel is that it is about 10 minutes outside the downtown area, so you have to factor that in plans as far as meeting in the city. However, the hotel can make arrangements for Taxis to drop you off and pick you up in the city. And again, the rates for the Taxis if the hotel makes the arrangements is very good. One last thing, everyone that works at the hotel speaks good English.

I spent two days in the city centre at an average to below average hotel. I came to this Oselya hotel because of the traveller reviews and was very pleasantly surprised at how the previous reviews came to what it actually was: very quaint, small hotel setting with personal care. From the very nice, new, clean room, to the way the hotel owners paid attention to the small detail, the experience was very good. Every morning breakfast was made through a previous night arrangement/choice in menu at your time of choice. I was glad I stayed with a female friend because definitely the hotel is for couples. Not a central location, but all the nice features made up for it!

Hotel shuttle was not available, so a taxi was procured to the airport...but at a higher price than stated in their literature. I felt the hotel should have picked up the difference due to their non-provision of an advertised service. Power and air conditioning was out of service for several hours. I feel a credit should be due for this inconvenience and discomfort.

Delicious! * Suggested a great local restaurant. Kozachok was a five-minute walk and had delicious Ukrainian fare in a beautiful outdoor setting. * Contacted us before our arrival with offers to help us in any way. Met us at the train station and took us to the airport for a reasonable fee. * Location is not the greatest. Suggest taking a taxi to the nearest Metro station and then navigate the city. Nearest Metro stop is at least a half hour walk away on a very busy highway. Taxi fare ran about $7. Even with this expense this hotel is a great value!

The Hotel Oselya was a nice change from the normal Ukrainian Hotels. The staff was very friendly and spoke some English. The rooms were very comfortable and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was excellent and was cooked to order with three different selections of their standard breakfast. The Hotel is a little out of the way but they are able to arrange transportation to and from the hotel. I arrived by train from Simferopol and they met me at my train car and assisted in handling the baggage to their car. Overall the stay was very pleasant and I would recommend this hotel highly.

Very comfortable, pleasant, clean, and tastefully furnished hotel. Staff was outstanding.
