"There's a small hotel...stay there!"

You betcha we had a wonderful stay at the Pownal. Friendly, helpful staff, a large double room with comfortable mattresses, and blackout curtains. Clean, clean, clean. All the amenities you'd expect: a fridge, coffee pot, hair dryer, tv, and some you don't, complimentary fresh coffee and tea in the lobby with fresh milk for the asking, a weekday happy hour, and a nice breakfast is included. The Pownal had no elevator, but it's easy to access upper rooms through the parking lot. Just ask the staff. The Pownal Hotel works hard at putting their guests first and succeeds. Great location to the main strip of stores and shops. Two suggestions: another towel rack or additiinal hooks in the bathroom, and a room safe.

"Quick get away to visit Charlottetown"

Perfect location , you can walk easily to all the major sights in Charlottetown. The room was comfortable even though ti was Halloween night it was quiet so we slept well . The breakfast had good choices eggs, cereals, yogurt, fruits and good coffee. The staff friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and will stay here when I go back to Charlottetown.

"Great place"

Great location, smaller rooms but very nice and comfy beds. Breakfast was delicious and staff were also very nice. Close to restaurants, bars and shopping. Waterfront is just a short 10 - 15 minute walk.

"I would stay at this hotel again."

Location is superb. With many sights and great restaurants within a block or two. Has an adequate free breakfast with sausage and eggs and a nice free evening beverage. Great parking and area was quiet at night.

There are no elevators so if you are unable to navigate stairs ask for a ground level. I thought the hall carpets were looking dated and not well kept.

"Good location but a noisy place."

Great location Comfortable bed

When I booked months ahead I requested the bed to be made up with a top sheet and blanket instead of a duvet as I find duvets are too hot. I received a reply that the request would be passed to housekeeping. Upon checkin, I was advised that they do not have any blankets in the hotel. Had they advised me of this at the time of booking, I would have looked at other accommodation options. Also, the sound-proofing between rooms is very poor which makes for a noisy stay.

Location Enjoyed happy hour free beer/ wine Liked that was pet friendly.

The place is in need of updates. The walkway upstairs to the room had ripped carpet and stains.
