Overall very good and great value for money. No food available after 9pm was a bit annoying

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming!! The room was clean and very comfortable with 2 seats. This is such a simple thing but makes a different when sitting down to have a cup of tea in the room. The breakfast was tasty, unfortunately no pancakes on offer (slight downside). Overall a great stay and intend to return for another short break

Quiet, comfortable, lovely food and attentive staff

Absolutely spotless hotel. Really quite the night we stayed. Food was gorgeous and the staff were lovely. Could not fault it.

The setting for the hotel is simply fantastic - overlooking the lake and so many lovely autumnal trees...the room I was given was big and quite clean but there were a few cobwebs which seemed strange in a hotel of this standard. Wifi was good but there was no phone reception in room. The breakfast was good - fresh and tasty. Bar food was good also though not a huge choice. What struck me about the hotel was the staff - they weren't rude but they weren't friendly. They gave the impression that they didn't want to be there. This turned me off a little and would make me slow to return. Generally, hotels in Athlone are very friendly. This was my first time staying here - maybe I got them on a bad day but that's not really an excuse either.

The team were amazing from the welcome at reception to the bar and restaurant.

It was not worth the money. We were on the 5th floor and you had to walk through a wall of flies to get to your room. Some would get into the room and then you had to run around trying to kill the things. Stayed at 5 different places throughout Ireland and this was the worst and the most expensive.
