My wife and I stayed 2 nights while exploring and paragliding in Haĺlstatt and Hallein. The owners are so nice and the meals are lovely homemade Austrian fare.The rooms are very nice with lots of warm wood decor.

We were very much impressed with this wonderful hotel in Salzburg. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was also amazing. Because there is a camp ground also on site that is managed by the hotel, there is also a pay to use washer and dryer on the premises. The rooms are very comfortable and the continental breakfast offered a wide variety of items. It is only a 20 minutes drive to the parking lot of the Eagle's Nest from here. I would absolutely recommend this little country gem to anyone staying in the area. Fabulous find!

The owner was very friendly.She handled the check in and the restaurant almost single handedly! Our room was on the road side of the building,so, there was traffic noise, but, the view was spectacular. Our only complaints:the linens and bedding could use an update.

This hotel was definitely a highlight of our trip. The owners are so meticulous to make sure that you enjoyed your stay. They gave us suggestions of things to do in the area and WOW there is lots to do in the area! We had a car and appreciated the free parking. Close by is the world's largest ice cave, a cool salt mine that kids will love, Berchtesgaden, Lake Halstatt, Sound of Music trail, and HohenWerfin Castle, Salzburg and so much more! Make sure you have dinner here! The food and beer are outstanding and so is the service! We also enjoyed a wonderful breakfast every morning. They have thought of everything! They exceeded all our expectations. We hope to come back and visit again!

Overall it was very good to stay in this hotel, it was clean and the staff was very helpful since it does not have an elevator and we are not young but the owner helped to take our suitcases to the second floor.

As a party of 4 people in our group, we booked two nights at this establishment during our road trip between Vienna and Germany. Hotel is located a short distance outside Salzburg and sits between Hallien, Salzburg, and Undersberg which are the 3 main tourist destinations in short distance. The hotel has a traditional hotel, a restaurant, and a camper van area at the back of the hotel. This hotel is easily reached by car, and parking space is more than adequate and is great choice are traveling by car and planning to avoid the city limits. There are buses that can take people to the city, but they run at limited hours so without a car, it may be a little difficult to reach here and transverse around. For the rooms, there are a number of rooms that you can pick. We decided to pick the road-side rooms that are slightly cheaper. However by picking the rooms there, it is located next to the road which is a local highway and below the room is the hotel restaurant that could be a little noisy until closing time. It wasn't a big issue for our group as we returned quite late to the hotel. We might recommend having the mountain view if you are sensitive to noise. Inside the room, the room size are larger than our other hotels we tried and generally comfortable. I had an issue with my bed that it was a little too soft. One of the days the towel replaced was a little old, which we didn't use. The breakfast here was enjoyable with a good selection of food that we enjoyed.

Located in quiet area outside of Salzburg in Hallein close to Saltmine. Friendly staff. Recommend doing the alpine coaster in Hallein.

My family and I have been traveling around Europe for the past few weeks. We wanted to see Salzburg and spend a few days in Austria. We chose to stay at the hotel Auwirt in Hallein vs somewhere in Salzburg and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Not only is the hotel very nice, the staff is great, and there is a lot to see and do in the area. One huge benefit to us was that we were able to do our laundry at the hotel while enjoying a couple of beverages in the sun rather than sitting in a laundromat somewhere. I would recommend this hotel and area to anyone wanting to visit the region.

Told manager the room had no soap. No soap supplied. No elevator to access rooms. Towels were very worn and old, dried on a clothes line and thus very rough. Auwirt is one notch above camping.

Very comfortable, clean, FABULOUS BREAKFAST, and right next to a bus stop!
