Thomas James Hotel

Great little room in the city centre, easy to get around and explore. The staff in the bar were helpful, and the room itself was nice.

The only criticism would be that the bathroom light switch didn't work so we had to use our phone torches after dark.

It was near the Centre of town. The shower and toilet were clean and efficient. The bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly.

In the room, only the bright lights over the TV were working, the bedside lamp didn't work. It was a bit noisy in the evening, but being above a pub this isn't surprising. The noise didn't keep me awake and did stop after pub hours.

Extremely run down, mould in shower, dirty floors, tatty furniture

Hotel was great value for money and fine for an overnight stay. I arrived very late and the staff were friendly and waited for me beyond normal check in time. It is a good location 2 mins walk from the railway station, The hotel is basic but clean and I had everything I needed - drinking water, tea/coffee, hairdryer, hanging space, mirror, etc.

The carpets on the stairs and in my room was worn and looked grubby - bring socks.

The bed springs were shot. The bathroom light didn't work. The usual cooked breakfast was unavailable (only continental), the room was very small.
