Thomas James Hotel

The rooms were warm and clean, with tea making facilities. Not expensive

The hotel needs re-carpeting and redecorating. The pub bar wasn't somewhere I'd want to use.

The location was great for the stay

Rooms dated & tired looking Everywhere could do with a tidy carpets rooms etc Was told on arrival that there wasn't a chef for the cooked breakfast so was offered continental instead

Spit and sawdust just as priced

cold coming from the window and the heating did not turn on. and a curtain turned off and did not touch the street light

The staff was helpful and friendly.

Very unclean. Bathroom lights didn't work and the fan was on all night. Loud music on until late hours. Breakfast wasn't served early enough.

Very good shower although the cubicle was small. Bed was comfortable.

Having to enter and check in via the pub, people smoking just outside the narrow door made it awkward to get in with suitcases. Too many stairs! Shabby carpets in communal areas and noisy - despite being on third floor I could hear the karaoke word for word in the pub below

The position.

Chair that I would not sit in because the covering peeling off. Blood on the duvet cover. Mould in the shower. Hand basin soap dispenser not working. Carpet dirty. Vanity Mirror light not working.

My room overlooked Bath Street and a number of inebriated men were shouting and singing in the street until the early hours of Sunday morning, so I didn't sleep well.
