The Falcondale Country House Hotel

First off, it’s beautiful just like its pictures. There are many rooms to congregate—the patio, dining room, breakfast room, lounge, etc. gorgeous. Staff are warm and inviting. Our bedroom was gigantic with a big bed, an antique cabinet, a desk, a few chairs, nice size tv that swivels and gets channels that you can log into in on your account. The bathroom had a shower/tub combo, hot water, nice pressure. The windows open flor to ceiling with nice heavy drapes and wood shutters so it gets nice and dark. Bathroom has plenty of space and glass shelves to put your things in. No lift be aware of. Gardens and grounds were gorgeous. Food at dinner & breakfast as delicious. Full of history.

My one complaint was that the mattress in our bed in the “Hutton” room needs replacing. It is way too soft and has lumps. Not one other thing, it was great.

The room was large and comfortable, if a little dated. Bathroom was smallish but clean with plenty of towels. Daily cleaning of the room was quiet and efficient. The windows onto the valley gave a spectacular view. The lounges, conservatory and bar area downstairs were comfortable and spacious, although a welcoming fire in one of the reception rooms would have made a great difference on a chilly day. It was no problem finding a parking space and was easy to reach other places within Ceredigion. The breakfast was excellent and the dinners good. Bar staff were helpful and the setting was very pretty. We enjoyed our evenings.

Some updating of the bedroom would be good, am sure managers/owners are aware of this. A heated towel rail in the bathroom would be welcome. The hotel entrance needed more care and attention as our first impressions were a little dampened for a 4 star country hotel. Clean welcome mat a must! ; real trees in pots (not artificial - Wales has beautiful trees!); whole entrance area needs more care. (I think the dogs were treated to a better welcome than humans!). Help with opening the very heavy door by reception staff on arrival a must, and would have made us feel more 'expected' - it was early evening and raining. Attire of some members of staff could be tidier in terms of professionalism and presentation - a jacket, logo'd fleece or jumper? Otherwise staff were helpful and kindly, especially in dining room.

The location is absolutely stunning and contrary to many places outshines the images provided beforehand. Everything else is then coloured by that whole vibe wherever you look you are aware of what a special place Falcondale is. I wish the new owners and the whole team all the best as they continue to make this place even more outstanding.

I booked as a treat for my son and daughter in law's 1st Wedding Anniversary, as they got married there last year. I've heard they've gad an excellent time so thank you to all the staff!

A beautiful old mansion set in truly stunning surroundings—it felt peaceful and close to nature. The service was warm and welcoming throughout. Both breakfast and dinner were exceptional, with consistently high-quality food.

The ambiance of the hotel is relaxed and well-kept. The grounds are exceptional and we enjoyed our walk through the wooded areas. Our room was spacious and, despite being a little dated, was a very welcoming place to return to after our days' activities.

When the room above us was occupied we could hear every conversation and footstep (and loo break!). Breakfast was a bit chaotic and would have benefitted from toast being provided as standard.
