Nicely presented hotel, easy to find and a short walk to railway station and town centre Good selection of breakfast options. Room well equipped and comfortable.

Final morning breakfast service staff cleared tables around us before turning off lights whilst we were still eating/drinking. My request for the retrieval of apple juice was met with a 'tut' and a tapping of her watch, even though we were still within the breakfast time window. A complaint was emailed to the hotel, but no response received. Poor all round

Location was perfect for what I needed. There was a range of breakfast items which was nice. The room was lovely I stayed in a single bed room for 1 night which was ideal for my travel.

We did not pay a small amount for this hotel, and with just a little extra we could have stayed at a better-known chain hotel. Despite booking two double rooms, we were given one single and one double room. We paid the rate for two doubles, so if they decided to give a single room instead, a price adjustment should have been made. If that wasn’t possible, the least they could have done was to be more accommodating with our requests. Instead, they gave excuses about a supposed plumbing issue and claimed that they are a very busy and highly preferred hotel. Honestly, I believe they intentionally refused to give our friend the double room he had paid for simply because the hotel was full. The problems, however, didn’t stop there. On the very first morning, housekeeping knocked on our door at 9 a.m.—a time when it is perfectly normal for guests to still be asleep. They could have easily come later, especially since the hotel only has a limited number of rooms. After that, they never returned to clean at all. The rooms themselves are extremely small and stuffy, with windows that neither open nor close properly. The towels we used the previous day didn’t dry inside the room, yet they were never replaced. Breakfast was another disappointment. While the hotel advertises that breakfast is served until 10 a.m., we were told after 9:30 that nothing would be available, which forced us to eat earlier than we wanted. To make matters worse, during checkout we were only about ten minutes past 11. We had forgotten something in the room and when I quickly stopped by the bathroom, the cleaning staff knocked on the door four times in a row—even though she clearly knew I was inside—basically pressuring me to get out immediately. This was extremely rude and unprofessional. Although we paid for a double room, my friend who stayed alone was given a so-called single room — in reality, it felt more like a tiny box than a proper hotel room.

Really nice big room in the outside courtyard, plenty of parking, lovely breakfast with a lot of choice, very friendly staff, nice part of Chester.
