"A wonderful place to stay!"

10.0

We always have a wonderful time at the Scranton Seahorse Inn! Michael is so welcoming and always ready with great tips for places to eat and visit! The breakfast each morning is always amazing and includes fresh fruit and delicious home baked breads and scones etc…All of the rooms are nicely furnished and decorated with really comfortable beds! The shops and beaches are within walking distance to the inn. We love coming back each year and look forward to a great stay!

"Disappointing Stay"

6.0

Host was not there to greet you at 5 pm which is usually the time guests arrive. Just an envelope with the key. Not flexible with the breakfast. Would not substitute anything, just took it off your plate. You are told to text him the night before with food allergies or dislikes. I can't have vinegrette- not usually part of a breakfast so I didn't get any tomatoes at all. The owner never introduced himself at breakfast. Had some pastries on the counter but no one told us to help ourselves. Would not go back. Overpriced for what it was.

"Wonderful place for a weekend getaway in a historic seaside village."

Breakfast was superb both days. Great buttermilk pancakes, blueberry scones. The proprietor knows what he's doing in the kitchen.

It's a rambling old property (which accounts for its charm), but some of the fixtures seem a little tired and could use updating.

"Comfortable stay"

8.0

We enjoyed our time at the inn. The shared lower level is decorated pretty typical of a B&B. It is clean and comfortable. There is coffee and a selection of tea available for the guests. Plenty of room to lounge and chat. The breakfast room was roomy and bright. The property is beautiful, with nice garden areas for the guests to enjoy. The inn is also very close to Madison’s cute Main Street, with shops, coffee shops, and restaurants within a very easy strolling distance. The inn keeper, Michael, was great. Not only is he an amazing chef, but was the perfect host. He remembered minor details of our trip to follow up, and I overheard him do the same with every other group. He seems to really enjoy what he does, and it shows. Our room was comfortable and quiet, though in pretty bad need of a refresh. Fresh caulk, grout, and paint would go a long way here.

"Look No Further"

10.0

Our first visit this past November was so wonderful that we returned again last week never expecting our second visit within 6 months to be as perfect; but alas, it was even better. Michael is a wonderful Host and incredible Chef - his meticulously-made breakfasts are delicious & will keep you full well past lunch, especially if you love homemade pastries like blueberry scones or corn bread, just to name a few. The Inn is literally steps from the quaint shops, restaurants. coffee & tea houses, Ice cream shops and lovely movie theater of Madison; but if quaint shops, aren't your thing, not to worry, theres a Stop and Shop, CVS & Subway shop just a few blocks away. Some of nicest beaches in New England are only a quick drive (Hammonasset Beach State Park & Nature Center is a must stop) as well as the lovely nearby towns of Guilford and Branford. (Bishop's Orchard Farm Market, Winery & Ice Stream Stand in Guilford is another must stop). Bottom line, there's no need for a Suggestion Box at the Inn, because Mihael has thought of it all. Go and Enjoy.

It was charming , quiet and comfortable yet right in the center of things. I was there for Books by the Sea at R Julia’s and everything was in walking distance.
