Hotel Star Montreal

Terrible check in, no breakfast whatsoever, moldy shower curtain, uncomfortable bed, stains on walls and curtains. Was showed the twin size bed that I had originally booked and it was the worst room I’ve ever seen in any of my travels. The room was the size of the bed with no walking room, a bathroom you could barely fit in, and a metal box on the wall being held up by the bed. Owner sleeps in the downstairs area and peaks through the back door when he sees you come in. Overall the worst experience I’ve ever had when staying at any hotel.

When I booked it online and said I could not get a refund when we got to the hotel I would have never stayed there

Bed was very comfortable. Location not so much, it was on a busy street. lots of noise from neighbor buildings. I couldn't control the AC. room was so cold. Bathtub faucet wasn't functioning properly. It was a bug flying in the room. However the reception guy was very nice and friendly. I feel like I paid too much money for poor conditioned hotel. I could have got a 3 star hotel with the price I paid. It better hotels for $120

The staff were awesome! I enjoyed my stay! No, it wasn't the poshest hotel in the area, but it was an excellent location and the proprietor was the friendliest, most helpful human being on the planet! If you want the Ritz stay there. If you want a warm, friendly environment close to downtown/the village in Montreal, stay here.

The hotel was unclean. One person only is only responsible for whole the work in the hotel from cleaning to every detail. Also, the internet was super slow! It is the most ever terrible hotel I have ever visited!

Nice hotel near the downtown activities and restaurants

Was supposedly given an upgraded room at no additional charge. The room was bigger, but the TV and Air Conditioning didn't work and Montreal was experiencing a heat wave. I could not connect to the Wifi in this room for some reason. The stairs up to this room are steep and narrow. I had a heavy suitcase so I was told I could leave it in the "employees only" front desk office. Finally, at the end of the day, I was told I would be moved to the room I had originally booked, but it was not the room shown by my Expedia booking. The room was very small and cramped. The TV didn't work and the cable box was hanging from the ceiling by it's cables connected to the TV, but at least the air conditioning worked.There was no waste basket in the room. There is no room cleaning service, so had to ask for fresh towels and more toilet paper. My first night at the Hotel, there was someone sleeping on the couch in the lobby. They were still there at 6:30 am when I went out to get a coffee. The neighborhood is well located, but there are a lot of homeless people and drug addicts on the streets around the hotel. I witnessed several fights on the street and had many unscrupulous people come up to me either begging for food or money or just to bother me. When I checked out, I discovered my $35 mouse pad that was in the large front pocket of my suitcase was missing. Thank goodness nothing else was. I would not recommend this hotel.

The best customer experience I had in my time booking rooms at hotels. To be quite frank, I thought it would be the usual routine.Get the room keys and all, but nope! The employee provided a very warm welcome!

I always stay here whenever I visit Montreal. The staff is very welcoming, the rooms are clean and the hotel is perfectly located close to all the action. Highly recommended!
