Uprising Beach Resort

My brother and I booked a week-long stay at the Uprising to scuba dive and explore Fiji. The Uprising and its staff are a true Fijian treasure! We arrived on Thursday just in time for a delicious outdoor dinner, a spectacular sunset, and yes, Island Night, where we were treated to front row seats to an amazing traditional and cultural dance and fire show! The sunsets sitting on the open air deck enjoying delicious cocktails was just amazing every night. The burres are charming, rustic, and ours was just steps away from the beach with beautiful views. It was quiet, peaceful, and the outdoor showers were so cool! We loved the island vibe here, but truly the best part was the caring and friendly staff! Lo and Mili were so very lovely, always greeting us at meals and when we returned from our days of diving and other adventures. Lino, Jone, John, Adi, Ema, Meki and Deta were all just wonderful. We are both vegan, and every day the chef had a special dish just for us! All were simply delicious: vegan blueberry pancakes, yummy fried rice and roasted vegetables, vegan pizza, and wonderful buffets! You truly feel like family when you stay here. The staff helped coordinate our rides to our activities and were so helpful. I left my small day pack in a taxi van and the manager went above and beyond and drove us back to the taxi company to retrieve my pack after hours--that's service!! The grounds are absolutely lush and gorgeous, and everyone is happy to share the history of this beautiful island with the guests, and also help in suggesting fun things to do. We dived everyday--even did the shark dive!, went tubing, took wooden boats up the river to a beautiful waterfall, toured a Fijian village, went zip lining, and explored nearby towns. Fiji is definitely a place you must visit, and you need to stay at the Uprising! We just love this resort and can't wait to return...and to see all our new friends again!

The staff is SOOOO helpful. The vibe is right. The food was fantastic. It was clean. There is a little maintenance needed in the hostel rooms- screens need fixxed and the cubbies / locks could use a refresh, but again- the STAFF! I left me headphones there and they helped me get them back to Nadi. Went way above and beyond. My luggage got delayed on the front end and they were super helpful supporting me. They helped set up a bunch of tours easily. And the kitchen staff was great too.

Nice clean resort at the beach. The workers there were friendly. Fish lunch took a while to prepare, but was very good. Just allow yourself plenty of time.

I recently revisited Uprising Beach Resort after staying here about a decade ago, and the difference is noticeable. The resort, which once felt vibrant and classy, now seems a little worn and tired. The dining areas that used to bustle with energy and offer a touch of sophistication have lost that charm. Breakfast is decent, but it’s no longer the extensive buffet I remember from my previous stay. The bures themselves have great potential, but they could really benefit from a repaint and a refresh in décor to bring back that inviting feel. The property still has all the bones of something amazing, but it has slipped from being a strong 4-star experience to what I’d now consider a reasonable 3-star stay. If management invests in some upgrades and revitalization, this resort could easily reclaim its former glory.

The accommodations are just average the villa was nice and spacious but everything needs paint and repair. The bathroom smelled and shower wasn’t hot. But we were on the beach listening to waves getting a in room massage. We did a fabulous day trip to a village. Then when we had missed the hotel kava night we bought kava and staff made it for us and sat with us. We got to know Detta and her family 2 nights drinking kava with them. We will never forget that. Then when our scuba shop was cancelling our shark dive the whole reason we were there, they started calling their local contacts and got us on another trip that day. Saved our trip.

I spend money for the buffet lovo night. Not enough food when I got to get more food. The hotel stuff packed all the fish in a container, left all the bones. I paid so much money for the meal and no food was left for me and my family.

Accomodation was great! Was unfortunate that the pool was being reconditioned

Sea front wooden bure is not that good barthroom is separated and water pressure is not acceptable took me almost 30 minutes to take my shower perthetic only the dinner was perfect

I was part of a group of 12, 10 senior students and 2 teachers. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. Our rooms were quickly ready despite our early arrival, and we were offered refreshments. The staff continued to be warm and friendly, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The meals were delicious and catered to all of our dietary requirements and tastes. Moana and her team ensured we were comfortable and that our reservations were handled promptly. I would recommend Uprising for its relaxed and fun atmosphere.
