"stylish hotel and good service"

10.0

I stayed for 5 nights. The hotel is full of characteristics, which I enjoy every much. Good location. Not far from May 4th Plaza. The price is reasonable with good staff and nice service. I will definitely go back when I visit Qingdao again!!

"Enjoyed the restaurant in the hotel"

6.0

Overall, a nice change from the typical business type hotel. This hotel is infused with a lot of china culture elements throughout the hotel decor. Room was small but acceptable for a short 2 night stay. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast as the spread was rather good for a local hotel. Also ate a dinner at the same restaurant and enjoyed it too. Prices were reasonable , food was nice and there was also nightly performences of Chinese opera.

"Excellent"

8.0

Location is ok, though it will be much better once the metro system currently being constructed is complete. We arrived the first day of the Qingdao Beer Festival from the train station at 5pm on a Friday, and it took us 2 hours via taxi to get to the hotel! Traffic was terrible. Hotel staff helped us figure out what public buses to take, and though they could only provide a chinese language map, the map included bus routes on it which we found essential. Housekeeping service was hit and miss. One day they didn't empty our garbage, clean our used tea mugs, or give us new large bath towels, even though they took the ones I had hung to dry to reuse. When we left on a Tuesday at 10am, hotel staff told us they couldn't call us a taxi to the train station due to the beer festival. We found that hard to believe, but weren't able to hail one down on the street ourselves. Luckily we had enough time to take the bus and traffic wasn't as bad as when we arrived. The hotel provided us with tickets for the breakfast buffet, which was pretty good, but every morning we got hassled, getting asked for two tickets even though we were only given one per day. Language barrier was a big problem. We ended up not having to pay extra for both of us to eat breakfast, but it was really annoying that it was an issue every morning and caused so much confusion. The hotel includes a tea house and artist shops, which was nice. Lots of good restaurants in the area.

"Nice hotel that need a little more maintenance"

8.0

Booked a "Harmony residence" room from 12 - 16 July. As I was traveling alone, room size was alright. However, the King bed was actually 2 single bed joined together and the spring of one of the bed was making noise, hence I can only sleep on one side. One of the hanging light was buzzing away and I have to turn it off. Television channels "run" when I was turning down the volume and the shower head drip water once a while after shower makes it difficult to sleep sometimes. Shower and toilet was separated which is good but shower area only comes in curtain which might not be convenient if you are traveling with friends (my local friend have to wait for me in the lobby while I took a quick bath). The room that I was given was a facing internal building room. There is a distance from the window to the wall and I was able to open the window, plus I was on the 3rd floor, hence there was enough daylight and I have no problem with this. Wi-fi in the room was strong and the general one in the lobby is good as well. Service of staff was good and I have no problems with them. They even serve my local friends with tea when he was waiting for me in the lobby. Although my room comes with breakfast but I do not have the chance to taste it as I woke up late.

"Great Hotel with a lot of local flavours infused"

10.0

The Hotel's restaurant serve good Shandong cuisines. The only issue - they only issue breakfast coupons for 1 room (not by how many people in the room).

"easy access"

8.0

room a bit cramp to move around. no fridge, no wardrobe for hanging of clothes, no wifi in room but have LAN line.Suggest bring own portable WiFi router for convenience. However service was good at reception as well as restaurant. Breakfast was OK. Plenty of local food around area. 15minutes walk to Jusco and Carrerfour supermart. Opposite Carrerfour, there's airport bus service at half hour interval and cost Rmb 20 only.Takes about 45mins to 1 hr to reach Qingdao airport. Hotel with antique decos and surroundings, feels comfortable. Can buy things on display around all areas.

"Very pretty hotel with lots of character"

8.0

I am very happy with this hotel choice although the room was a little small and the plumbing could have been stronger. Very quaint decor - full of character and a great neighbourhood for food. Away from the old city centre that can be reached by a 10-15 minute taxi ride..

"Just great, but.....!"

8.0

I love this place! However, I had a few little "problems" on this, my third visit: I booked the cheapest room, which meant that I had a room with a window only into the atrium rather than the outside. I was inundated with cigarette smoke whenever I opened the window and the AC did not to seem to work very well. The lighting in the room was extremely low to the point that it was hard to do any reading or work on my laptop....! Apart from all that, it would be a great place to stay.
