Le Méridien Qingdao

I recently stayed at Le Méridien Qingdao, expecting the refined experience showcased on Hotels.com and associated with the Marriott brand. Unfortunately, the reality fell short in several areas. Firstly, communication was unexpectedly difficult — none of the front desk staff spoke English, and all interactions had to be conducted via translation apps. This made even basic requests time-consuming and frustrating, especially at a supposedly international hotel. Secondly, I had specifically booked a smoking room, only to be told on arrival that the hotel is entirely non-smoking. I was informed that the website is outdated — but surely this is something that should be addressed by now, especially on major booking platforms. The bathroom area, particularly the wooden features and floor tiles, felt worn and in need of renovation. It detracted from what was otherwise a well-appointed, spacious room with a lovely view from a high floor. I appreciated the generous amenities and thoughtful touches throughout the room. One final inconvenience: the glass-topped desk rendered my mouse unusable, which made working from the room uncomfortable — a surprising oversight in a business hotel. In short, while the room had its positives, the lack of English-speaking staff, misleading booking information, and some maintenance issues made this stay less than satisfying. With a few improvements, this property could live up to the Le Méridien name.

Old rundown hotel with nad service i arrived after midnight tired and exhausted then is when Ella at check it decided to give me a hard time the room was small and smelled from cigarettes smoke all the furniture and equipment are old and tired i do not recommend to stay at this hotel

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights from 27th May to 31st May 2025 in the room number 2209. I had requested a few things in advance thru the MB app and they confirmed all the requests. I did this advance request because I checked in around mid night and had an early morning meeting. To my surprise, nothing was placed and had to request them again over the phone. But they do not understand English. So, I did request them again by the MB app. I got the things delivered after half an hour. Just a pillow took half hour. In the morning, I found out that the toilet was choked. It would not flush. I faced this toilet issue for all 4 days. Everytime, I make a complaint, they always said that they will send "ENGINEER" to fix them. To compensate these issues, they offered me 1 day extra HOUSEKEEPING. I mean.... EXTRA HOUSEKEEPING. Guys, I can request that on my own. I told them that I leave early in the morning and come back late in the evening... so why would I need EXTRA HOUSEKEEPING. I have stayed at Marriott properties for last 8-10 years, but never faced this issue. I spoke to their Duty manager many times. Lastly, i ran out of Chinese RMB and I went to their front desk and requested them to change USD 100 only for me to RMB and that I would accept any exchange rate. Because I was left with 0 RMB. They refused it out right. They say that they can only change it from 10 am - 5 PM. I explained them my situation many times, but NO. They did not budge. This was the MOST MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I ever had at Marriott hotel. Just before reaching Qindgao, I was in Hangzhou and stayed there at HANGZHOU MARRIOTT HOTEL QINGJIANG. There I wanted to change USD 1000 to RMB at mid-night and the front office assistant (Ms. Nora) did it willingly for us. I WOULD NEVER SUGGEST THIS LE-MERIDIEN TO ANYBODY. Its HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I think that any 3 star Hotel in Qingdao would have provided better and comfortable stay.

Love the Comfy bed & Excellent house keeping..Location is easier access to next door Shopping Mall which cater many eateries..Hotel near many attraction. My special thanks to Hotel porter ~Jack. He guide us on the correct address for places of interest each time we call for DiDi..no regrets in picking this hotel
