Hampton Inn Matamoras

I love this hotel and stay here frequently. Check in is super fast, staff are friendly, breakfast is very good and I rarely hear any other guests.

My husband and i stopped in just for one night stay traveling from Va to Me.We didn't book the room in advance as we wanted to drive as far as we could to be closer to home.For the most part it was decent although the room could use a few updates like one of the beds was not on the boxspring correctly and easily tipped when sitting on the edge and the cold/hot water in the tub was iffy,tub fixtures were old.I can deal with all these things because we were just going to catch a few zzz's and get up early and hit the road.The big problem was the not so warm welcome we recieved from the young lady(Ameeka) working the front desk.She was extremely rude,no expression on her face,very robotic almost null and void.I have never in all my travels asked for a room and had a key just given to me....no asking us if we wanted 2 queens,a king,or a king suite.It was so weird.Now the lady in the morning was just lovely(didn't catch her name).Honestly,i probably would stay there again as long as they replace her with someone that actually has the skills and the mindset to work in hospitality.

Great hotel. Only complaint was their Wi-Fi was very poor.

The front desk person was not helpful at all. Several days before our arrival I had called to make a change and I requested a confirmation email I never received one so when I called back two days later the front desk person said it's okay on our end what are you worried about? My end still had the wrong dates for my arrival so I was worried. When we checked in the front desk person was barely helpful I told her I had a Hilton Honors number and I couldn't locate it at the moment and she just ignored me and never told us which way to the elevator where is the pool where is breakfast nothing helpful whatsoever she did the bare minimum of communication. She happened to be there when we left as well and once again not friendly just drop your keys in the Box you're all set like nothing friendly about her I'm not used to that at your facilities.

Breakfast was very good. Wish I saw a tip jar for the woman taking care of the set up. She was great!

Underside of the bench seat in the bathtub needs deeper cleaning

Stay here every year and the rooms are clean and the staff is very griendly and professional

Parking lot very safe. It was so easy to travel with points of interest close by. Shops across street and a movie theatre and dining. We enjoyed back yard brewing co. Very close. Great food.

Staff was great, room was good except thw bed was uncomfortable and tv too small.
