Hlosi Game Lodge - Amakhala Game Reserve

Game drives were excellent.

Hot water was unreliable.

Beautiful property with the most amazing ladies working there. The bungalows are spacious and well decorated . The location is perfect with a lovely waterhole with the funniest baby hippo.

Unfortunately we were very unlucky with the ranger assigned. He was extremely antisocial and borderline rude. We have been to game rides before in different places but this one was a real disappointment. Mind that the game reserve is beautiful and spacious with lots of animals but the ranger ruined it for us. I could never imagine that the game ride could be boring but apparently it can due to the disengaged and dispassionate ranger. It’s really a pity as the lodge is very lovely with amazing staff but when you come for a safari and the rides are disappointing there is really no point to cross the world for that . The ranger spotted a cheetah with his professional binoculars on 2 out of 4 rides and was staring at it alone for hours , it was not visible for us with our amateur binoculars or to the bear eyes so basically wasted hours staring at nothing. Did not see male lions. And when arrived to the group of elephants stayed only 5 minutes to admire them and then hours driving seeing nothing.

Great stay. The manager was extremely attentive and explained everything, the staff were very attentive. Game drives were great, up rough roads, and we saw cheetahs and rhinos. Lovely views of animals grazing from our tent balcony. The food menus were a little tatty

Very beautiful game reserve and very kind staff. The safari experience is amazing.

Could be a little cleaner on the outside but the lodge is surrounded by nature, there are a lot of beautiful birds flying by and there is not much water
