Clifton Sands Holiday Apartments

We initially thought we had booked at a more expensive resort type property, so were disappointed to realise our mistake. However, if you are spending your days out in the area and only using the room to sleep in, the facilities are quite adequate. This is an economy type property so understandably needs some painting and new furnishings and décor. The washing machine also needs to be fixed. There is wifi in the BBQ and pool area which is a bit inconvenient but not a major issue. There is a slight sea view from the higher floors, although this needs to be looked at from the perspective of a climb up the stairs. Overall, more than satisfactory

Nice, clean and comfortable accommodation which was well located very close to the beach and a short drive from the shopping centre for supplies. The service was excellent and friendly. The only thing that we could spot as a very minor negative was the bed which was on wheels and rolled very freely when sat upon, I nearly fell off a couple of times but not something that would stop us staying again. Very good value.

Honestly, we booked our room here because another option fell through, and a lot of things were full for the school holidays. I expected that it would be a decent beach motel of some sort. When we arrived, we couldn't believe our luck: the people were wonderful, the room was a lovely self-catering apartment, and the location was right next to a beautiful, quiet beach in easy reach of other, more touristy beaches that are lifeguarded during the week. We may never return to Queensland, but if we do, I'll try to make this hotel our headquarters. My family stayed at a number of hotels in Australia on this trip. All of the others were more expensive--some of them over twice as expensive--but this one was easily our favorite.

The location was generally quiet, close to the beach. Bats & cockatoos were very noisy in nearby trees at night & early morning. Room was neat, tidy and supplied extras in the kitchen. Dryer, bathroom sink plug not on working order & light bulb in lounge kept blowing, otherwise value for money. Friendly Manager.

The perfect location for us visiting family at nearby Kewarra Beach, with a multitude of excellent dining choices at the neighboring Palm Cove suburb. Quiet and countrified with a view of the ocean, and good old fashioned hospitality. Everything to offer at close proximity, but without the hustle and bustle and price tag that usually goes with popular tourist destinations.

This was a great place for a break and to do activities in Cairns and the region as well as the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree river, Atherton tablelands. It was quiet, and comfortable. Nice King bed. Washer and dryer in the apartment. One block from the beach but easy walking, and great view of the ocean.
