Hintlesham Hall Hotel

Fantastic staff and venue. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend.

Pros: Lovely hotel, quiet setting, very friendly staff, comfortable and clean room. Cons: The hotel WiFi was not working . No 4G at all and 3G was very, very slow. There was no lock on our door and twice a member of staff came into our room while we were still there. The first time was a cleaning lady who came in while we were still laying in bed, even though the do not disturb sign was on our door. We both said “no thank you, we are ok for now” and asked her to stop 3 or 4 times and she just carried on cleaning the bathroom saying “it’s ok”. I had to get up and point to the do not disturb sign before she said sorry and left. Very odd! The second time was just a mistake by the staff member who left as soon as she opened the door and realised we were in there. Apart from those little issues we had a lovely stay.

Excellent for a wedding with approximatel 80 guests. (The groom was 91 and the bride 82!!!) They survived the whole day.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Staff were courteous, but did not have that finesse required for the image Hintlesham wants to project. A menu choice ordered was then found to be unavailable and although something else was offered, the waiting staff were not knowledgeable enough to answer supplementary questions on the dish, nor the foresight to go and seek answers elsewhere. There was a 'Fawlty Towers' moment at breakfast with the cleaner crashing about outside the dining room with her hoover. Not sure it was appreciated by breakfasters early in the morning and if it was something that needed sorting immediately, a dustpan and brush may have been the weapon of choice to limit noise! We had previously stayed here a few years ago and thought then that it lacked something for a hotel of its rating. Not much improvement on that score. Food ok, but not excellent, rooms nice enough, but not excellent and the bathrooms could do with a thorough clean as attention to detail seems to be missing, ie the outside seal of the shower cubical was quite grubby and hairs caught in bath plug. Although nice, it is a shame they have changed their toiletries from White Company to Temple Spa. Would we stay again, maybe if there was a good enough deal, but I do not think it warrants the current prices charged.

Not a bad place to stay but the WiFi is terrible amd very frustrating as it buffers none stop.

The hotel and staff were superb, however it did feel a little lacking in atmosphere even though the hotel was busy. We returned from an evening out and the bar in the hotel was in darkness ! It was only 10.30pm. We were able to get a drink but no background music or anything to bring the hotel to life.

I was booked in to Best Western, what a dive! This hotel offered fantastic service, clean and comfortable room. Only issue is if you are a light sleeper the shower pump may wake you if the room next door is an early riser. Not a brilliant vegetarian/vegan selection on menu but very helpful staff.

No room service when we paid nearly £300 for the room for the night is shocking!

The staff at Hintlesham were excellent! They really went out of their way to assist my mum who was on crutches. Clean, great food and very comfortable. I'd highly recommend visiting the gardens too - they grow a wide selection of produce which are used by the hotel's kitchen.
