"Great location, Good food, clean and well maintained. Average trips and we got a very pessimistic guide"

6.0

The place is lovely. Lodges are basic and Overlook the river . It is a beautiful well kept property. There is hot water , clean sheets and towel . The food was great. Best grilled fish of our trip. However we did not have a good guide ( Alex). He didn't seem very interested and I felt wasn't keen on sharing information. Also it was very hard to hear him most of the time. He kept telling my son and I " you/he will not be able to do this" I dont really need his opinions on what i can and cannot do . I understand he lives there and has seen it all but we are visitors and everything was new to us.

"Amazing jungle lodge experience"

10.0

We had an amazing three nights at the Juma Amazon Lodge. The staff were next-level warm and helpful. We had many options for experiences and trips on the river. The buffets were a great surprise and we particularly liked the swimming pool which is in the river but protected. Accommodation is very comfortable if a little rustic, as you’d expect. The other guests were from around the world and all very interesting and adventurous. Highly recommended!

"Peace and quite in the jungle."

10.0

Just came back from a 2-night stay at Juma. Had an amazing time. The room was great and spacious. The food was really good. The guides were amazing. It is not the Ritz Carlton, nor it is pretending to be. It is an opportunity to be immersed in the Amazon with comfort, and it delivers. The guides are friendly and passionate. We had Marcos and he was very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. We had no issues with bugs and insects, so don't listen to the bad reviews.

"Rainforest experience in style! "

10.0

Wonderful rainforest experience. Staff is exceptional. Good food with a variety of Brazilian and other types. Swim in the black waters safely in their pool. Fun excursions into the forest. Rooms very nice (only a few are air-conditioned) rest have fans but are surprisingly comfortable at night. Highly recommended for a up close and personal rainforest experience!

"Unforgettable Amazon Experience with Incredible Guide"

10.0

We had the most amazing stay at Juma Amazon Lodge! From start to finish, the experience was seamless, immersive, and unforgettable. Our guide, Leon, was absolutely fantastic — knowledgeable, friendly, and deeply passionate about the Amazon. Thanks to him, we truly connected with the environment around us. Whether it was exploring the jungle, spotting wildlife, or learning about local traditions, every activity was engaging and educational. Leon made sure we felt safe, informed, and totally immersed in nature. The lodge itself is beautifully integrated into the rainforest — peaceful, eco-friendly, and full of charm. We loved waking up to the sounds of the jungle and falling asleep under a sky full of stars. It’s a true escape from the everyday. Our flight was early the following day so based on their advice we changed our plan to elimiate the risk of us missing our flight. The team arranged a smooth and convenient transfer to our next destination, Juma Opera Hotel in Manaus, which made the transition effortless. They ensured we were looked after with a great room and dinner in Manaus too which lessened the sadness of leaving the lodge that day. We can’t recommend Juma Amazon Lodge highly enough. It’s the perfect way to experience the Amazon in an authentic, comfortable, and respectful way. A huge thank you to the entire staff for making this trip so special!

"One of the best travel experiences of my life"

10.0

I stayed at Juma lodge for 5 nights in May 2025. It was an absolutely incredible experience. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who loves nature / wildlife. This was one of the best travel experiences of my life. It is about 3-4 hours travel from Manaus. Juma lodge picks you up in Manaus and transports you by bus and boat to the lodge. There is essentially a morning and afternoon excursion each day (one group in English, another group in Portuguese), and you get to know your multinational excursion group very well, since you spend all day every day together. You have to travel by boat to pretty much all the excursions, as this is mainly a wetland rainforest area (with some similarities to the Everglades in the U.S., for those who have been to the Everglades). My personal favorites were tree climbing, piranha fishing, and caiman spotting. That said, all the excursions were fun and worthwhile. Leon was my guide. He was absolutely phenomenal! Masterful knowledge of the Amazon and very friendly/fun. Over the course of the 5 days, we saw several different species of monkeys, dozens of bird species (e.g., macaw, toucan, etc.), caimans, snakes, river dolphins, etc. A wildlife lover's paradise. I would strongly recommend bringing binoculars with you on the excursions. The lodge has a few pairs they can lend you if you don't bring your own from home. The rooms are pretty comfortable in my opinion, and the service/meals at the lodge are wonderful. That said, if you are used to staying in 5 star luxury hotels, Juma lodge is not one, but it is very comfortable/luxurious for a remote jungle lodge, in my opinion. I'd absolutely recommend staying at Juma to any wildlife/adventure lover.

"Fabulous family visit to Juma!"

10.0

My husband and I took our two young adult children for a 4 night stay at Juma Amazon Lodge. Initially we stayed at the beautiful and comfortable boutique Juma Opera Hotel in Manaus (owned by the same company) to overnight prior to our adventure. The Hotel kept our suitcases in storage as one is permitted only 22lb bags on the transfer to the Lodge. It took approximately 3 hours by boat, air conditioned bus and another boat to get from Manaus to the Lodge (included a bathroom break!). We reserved a family bungalow because it was air conditioned and that was a wise, wise choice! We were afraid it would be cramped with four tall adults, but the family bungalow was surprisingly spacious and comfortable. The beds were on the firm side. The day we arrived at the lodge we were assigned a dedicated guide, Ralf, who absolutely made our stay exciting, and memorable. Ralf was invaluable. Ralf led 3 or 4 expeditions daily including piranha fishing, jungle walks, jungle treks, picnic barbecue in the jungle, sunrise tours, visit with a local family, seeing the tree of life and nighttime jungle explorations. During the jungle visits, Ralf provided us the opportunity to see pink river dolphins, monkeys, snakes, iguanas, tree frogs, insects, spiders and caimans up close! He was an expert bird and animal spotter and gave us all the time we needed to photograph and observe all the animals we encountered. We learned all about the plants and trees in the jungle, their uses and medicinal properties. We even learned some jungle survival techniques! There were no dull moments with Ralf yet we had time to explore the Lodge, spend time at the river pool, have midafternoon “tea” and snacks and have time to use WiFi in the large air conditioned reception bungalow. The restaurant had a varied buffet specializing in local Amazon foods, including traditional meals, and lots of freshly caught fish. I don’t eat fish but I found lots of yummy chicken and meat meals. Freshly prepared pastries, breads and desserts were always available. One won’t go hungry at Juma! The Lodge has a water purification system so you can always get fresh clean cold water in the restaurant and at reception which is important given the temperature and humidity. My family cannot express how exceptional our stay was at Juma Amazon Lodge and would highly recommend it.

"The most amazing and best experience"

10.0

We had an amazing experience right from Day 1. The lodge setting gave us a true amazonian experience which was phenomenal. The staff, management and restaurant staff were fun to be with and catered to all our needs. The experience was made even memorable by our tour guide LEON. The tours were very engaging and fun because of LEON. He also took care of my wife by holding her hands while we hiked to make sure she was safe. He ensured we had the best experience and made sure our wishes were met. He treated us like we were family. I feel like I now have an adopted son in the Amazons. I will definitely recommend him to anyone and for my family in the future. Leon's passion, expertise with language, stories about the forest were very interesting and engaging. I will definitely remember these days always because of LEON!!!!
