Brilliant!!

The condition of this hotel was shocking to say the least. It was clear the rooms hadn’t been cleaned in years - dust, cobwebs, spiders, hair on the linens, and a very strong smell of must and mildew throughout. The deck door did not lock so I felt very unsafe for my entire stay. The front reception was not very helpful and quite cold at times. The only upside of this place is the adjacent pub and restaurant where the breakfast and staff including Heather were wonderful.

We stayed for one night for a 60th wedding anniversary celebration. I think the rooms inside the house are much nicer, than the “quality inn” type rooms in the 2 story walk ups. My father in-law found it difficult to manage the stairs with double knee replacements. It would have been nice if the receptionist had taken visual note of his cane and offered him main floor accommodations. My bathroom tissue box was empty and was very dusty. It was obvious no one had cleaned it in quite some time. We have stayed here several times over the years. It feels like it needs a good refresh. The breakfast menus for example, had items that they don’t make anymore, however because they are laminated, and cost $1 to make and they have 100 of them it’s too costly to make new ones. As explained to us by our waitress.

Breakfast was wonderful, staff was great. Room was dirty, bathroom fan was thick with dust. Room had a dusty smell, curtains were full of dust.

Need renovation , rugs , mattress

The room had tons of black bugs They were on my kids beds and all over the bathroom. Room not the cleanest. The staff at breakfast was very nice and friendly. On checkout, they charged me an additional 160$ claiming Expedia only paid them 850% even though I paid the full 1200$ up front. They refused to provide a breakdown on the expenses and I had no charges to the room. I will be filing a complaint with Expedia and the owners. Avoid this hotel at all costs!

New building but looks worn already needs a refresh. For the price well worth it, service and facilities good
