The Waring House

Beautiful property

The Waring House was well situated and provided basic needs during our overnight stay. The room was very clean but somewhat dated. High point was breakfast included in the package. A lovely dining room and good food. Note that the Waring House is set up like a campus made up of multiple buildings so the restaurants are not in the same building as your room.

Standard room was small … Also I did not like that the screen door and the patio door could not be locked .. locking mechanisms on both were old and bent and could not be used .. not impressed .. Kim

I recently stayed at Waring House on Sandy Hook in Prince Edward County for a 2-day getaway, and I have to say, I was extremely disappointed. From the moment I walked into the room, I could tell that this place hadn't been updated in years. The carpet was stained and extremely worn out and the bed were more or less makeshift one. I didn’t expect luxury, but cleanliness is a basic requirement, and unfortunately, this resort failed in that department. The room had a musty smell which made breathing hard and even though I opened the window and the patio door, the smell remained. I also noticed a lot of dust behind the furniture. It was clear that they weren’t paying attention to the details when it came to maintenance. On the positive side, the staff was friendly enough but since I had booked via Expedia, they said they could not help us in any way. The property itself is amazing, quiet, well maintained. There is a lot of potential with this resort, well located within the PEC. I wouldn’t recommend this resort to anyone unless you're okay with staying in rooms that have not been cared for in years. If you're looking for a relaxing, clean, and comfortable place to stay, this is definitely not it.

Room was an adequate level of clean. Some stains on the couches and carpet, but beds and bathroom were clean.

Spacious property

This place is great if you want to go to the Sandbanks Park, it's very close. It also has a good restaurant and a pub. We enjoyed our suppers at the pub very much. Also Picton is just few minutes away by car. My only negative comment is about the quality of the mattresses - horrible. We had a queen bed and it had literally 2 holes, one for each person! I never saw it that bad, specially considering the price we paid. Hopefully the management will do something about it right away, we did mention it when checking out. Otherwise everything was great!
