Ive stayed at this hotel twice, once in 2021 on my way to Rockport and in 2022 on my way to Corpus Christi. 2021 was terrible, 2022 was good, I will start with the bad time in 2021. If you ever stay here, DO NOT STAY ON THE 1ST FLOOR! All you can see out the window is a bush! A BUSH! Also at 2 am there were kids running around the hallway. WHERE WAS SECURITY PATROLLING THE HALLWAY ON THIS? UNACCEPTABLE! And the next morning I was woken up to people BANGING THEIR SILVERWARE IN THE BREAKFAST AREA WHICH IS ALSO UNACCEPTABLE! Also I was scammed I booked a 1 king 1 bedroom suite on the 4th floor but when I got to the hotel after checking in I saw my room number was 101! Not happy and holding back my rage, I went to my room and when I opened the door, I found I'd been put in a 1 king 1 bedroom ADA COMPLIANT ROOM! NOW THAT ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT WHAT I BOOKED! I didn't dare step 1 toe in that handicapped shower. As mentioned all I could see out the window was a BUSH! AND THE WINDOWS COULD EASILY BE SMASHED BY A BURGLAR AT 3 AM. And I couldn't change rooms cause they were sold out that night, so I was stuck with 101. I left the next morning pissed. WASTE OF $179, I could hardly sleep all night because of all that GARBAGE THAT'S UNEXCUSABLE. A year passed. In 2022, I decided to go to Corpus Christi and looked at the route and saw I'd go through Waco again. Of how nice this hotel really was on the upper floors, having a nice pool and basketball court and a grill area. I really want to get a better experience with it. So I decided to try this hotel again and get redemption. So now let's talk about the good time in 2022. I called them 10 days prior to departure and reserved a 2 queen 1 bedroom suite on the 4th floor with a Lakeview. And they noted it, and called them again a few days before to make sure it was still there. But then I leave and call again the day of stay and they tell me the only 2 queen 1 bedroom Lakeview left was 326. WTH, why didnt they tell me that earlier, but luckily they said they had a 1 king 1 bedroom on the 4th floor. And offered it to me to get on the 4th floor, and although I still wasnt too happy about downgrading, I took it. Because it could fit the 3 of us still, just someone would have to sleep on the pullout couch which was fine. When I got to the hotel they gave us just that, we were given room 423 and let me tell you it was SO MUCH BETTER THAN 101. A much better view than just starring into a BUSH! You could actually see other buildings. There's was also a MUCH LESS risk of the windows being smashed or starred into, much more privacy. And there was no noise at all in the middle of the night. No being woken up to banging silverware. And a nice bathroom and WALK IN SHOWER. I slept very well all night and could actually enjoy the great amenities, I then felt like this hotel could be my home away from home because of how nice it really is when you get everything you want, 423 was a great room compared to 101. I will conclude my review with this. 101, WASTE OF MONEY! 423, MONEY WELL SPENT!

Very clean, well organized, friendly staff. The breakfast was much better than standard free breakfasts. It is easy to get to, and close to lots of shopping and attractions. Downtown is reachable in about 10 minutes

I felt like the rooms need updated. The couch was old in the room. Our room smelt like dog urine.
