Kondai Lip Backwater Heritage Resort

Beautiful resort to relax and experience village life and backwaters of kerala. The warmth and service from the staff who are mostly locals has my special appreciation as it elevated the experience. Right from the boat pick up to get to the property, to helping us with peddal boats and other activities, they were very hands on and kind with people of all age groups. The food both for dinner and breakfast was very tasty and we enjoyed it. Choosing a room with the backwater view is a good idea.

Not a negative, but please be mindful that you need to park your car on the other side and call the reception to get to the property with a very short boat trip. We learned about this from other reviews as it was not communicated well on booking.com.

Lovely place if you are looking for a complete relaxation, birds watching, ayurweda, trying Indian food, etc., but there is not much else to do there.

We had an amazing stay at Kondai Lip Resort! The serene atmosphere, with lots of birds and beautiful rooms, including open air showers in the bathroom, made it feel like an outdoor paradise. We enjoyed activities like swimming, fishing and paddle boating. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was fantastic, especially the breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, made-to-order omelets and crispy dosas. The boat ride to the resort added a secluded, paradise-like feel. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

Serene location amid the backwaters and the amazing opportunity to witness sunrise every morning. The staff are very nice and the food was decent. We had booked two cottages for 4 nights and we really loved it. It is a bit far from the Kochi airport (1.5 hrs drive) but not far from Fort Kochi and other attractions. The resort helped us in getting in touch with the airport transfer company and they also have cars for hire with driver for the local sightseeing. I would recommend to use their service for local sightseeing. The opportunity to use the pedal boats, fishing rods and kayaks on demand was a bonus. The pool was pretty nice too.

The staff were excellent, couldn’t have been more helpful, the rooms were fab, lovely and cold as it was very hot outside. Little tricky getting in and out of the heritage rooms but you get used to it. Food was delicious. Would love to come back and stay longer.
