Millennium Hotel Chengdu

I have been staying in this hotel, on occasion, for 10 years and it always provides an excellent experience - in terms of its location, facilities and always through the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Nice hotel with nice rooms. Great breakfast! We have enjoyed the stay.

The pool is much smaller than it seems on the picture.

The city of chengdu is much bigger and developed than we thought.Thus getting around would be a challenge sometimes as Google map doesn't work out.We had very detailed guide from both the duty manager and Concierge. Their services were impressive.The hotel is located in the south of the city with 2 metro lines within walking distance. A park and a walking street are 2-3mins walk.The room is not so spacious but very comfortable.Would come back if we have the chance to revisit chengdu.

Excellent value for money. Quiet well-designed fawn coloured room. No grey! Nice size bathroom. Very good room service. Tasty and prompt. They made me Western style chicken and vegetables. Nice! Friendly staff. Good spa masseuses too. I loved that the reception is open all night. I arrived at 1*30am and all the bright lights were a welcome sight. A definite thumbs-up. 👍Recommend.

Please ensure that the bedroom lock card is activated for use before the customer leaves the reception area. I had to return. I was already tired (I arrived at 1*30am). This made me more tired! Please - my thinking - IF a customer has to return to get the lock card activated, that customer must be attended to immediately, not made to wait behind other visitors, especially if those visitors just started their check-in procedure! I was very happy with my experience at the hotel. But this one incident did not start the experience well. And a 'sorry for the inconvenience' would have been professional. But I did not receive this.

Bad experience to have gotten doubling charges, once at reservation and once again at check out. It is a serious mistake that should not have occurred at any hotel at all. This is the first time experience for my life time.

Security would regularly not allow us to enter because we were non-Chinese. 8 people walking in at the same time, the security consistently only stopped us. We were guests, the others were not even guests in the hotel. We told the Duty Manager, Oscar, he made excuses for the security, and Oscar even went as far to tell us that he did not care if this impacted our stay and would influence our future stays. I asked to speak to the General Manager more than 8 times, I was promised the GM would contact me; the GM never contacted me.
