Awal Hotel

Following some initial confusion regarding my booking and airport pick up specifically, everything developed into a good, comfortable and relaxing break. The hotel was in an area where I have stayed previously and offered compatible facilities with other more expensive hotels, previously used by me, in that area. Rooms were spacious and quiet.I would look to stay there again if I visit Bahrain and will make the booking much earlier to avoid any potential confusion.

Do not prepay, they double charged me.

Very busy area of course. If you have a car, there is a car park for the hotel guests, though don't be surprised if you see a scuff mark or two - particularly if your car is white. Staff were good and correct. Hotel is a "older" but reasonably well maintained. This is not a 5 star property, but it is quite acceptable.

The hotel was fine, and at $50 it was a great price. It is a two-star hotel, definitely. There were problems with shower water pressure and the water was only warm, not hot. Other than that I was very happy with the service and, especially, the lively Bab Al Bahrain neighborhood. A note/warning: Google Maps currently has the location wrong. It's near the Gulf Pearl on Al Khalifah.

Hotel was the 2nd cheapest I could find in the area, wifi worked incredibly fast, food was average and the staff were ok. Would definitely go again for the price and the fact that it's located inside the souk

Once I arrived at airport the driver wasn't there, so I called and they didn't want to pick me up, BUT I insisted that it was part of the deal and I was going to wait for them. After long wait and several call he arrived and when I arrived at the hotel, I didn't have good impression about the hotel. They checked me in and the next day I felt better. The room was comfortable and clean, the mattress a bit hard the way I need for my back, the refrigerator works well, a table with 2 chair, the air was a bit to cold for me BUT I was able to sleep comfortable without. The staff was attentive in anything I need. I spoke with the manager and he was very pleasant. I would return to this hotel and recommend to anybody traveling in a budget.

All positive. Only thing is the Expedia "blurb" about the shuttle stated 5 dinar RT to/from the airport. This needs updating as the prices have doubled! Still a decent price as compared to taxis who "demand" 10 dinar 1-way.

Room was large with a tiny balcony. Good location - near the souk. There is free wifi. The staff is helpful. And if you need a taxi to the airport - have them arrange it with no hassle - all for only 5D.

It's a relatively cheap hotel to stay in Bahrain, where most everything is hideously overpriced. It's a short taxi ride to the malls, a little further to nightlife in Juffair. A few quibbles: If you're an English speaker you won't find anything on the television to watch. They didn't replace or even clean my drinking glasses when they cleaned the room. Soap was not replaced. Other than that, no complaints.
