"Great for families."

Great location and facilities. 100% returning.

If something goes wrong, there seems to be a slow response time / you might have to follow up with staff.

"Disappointed and nervous about using the water to bathe"

3.0

I liked being close to a lot of waterfalls.

I feel like the way they advertised the amenities was false advertising but the biggest issue was the hot water. The water was brown and cloudy, even after running for 20 minutes. The jacuzzi tub was part of the reason we chose this place and couldn’t use it due to the unsafe water. There is no staff to help or ask questions after the office closes and it’s closed on Sundays and was closed on Monday for the holiday. I emailed the business to ask about the the normal look of the water coming out of the faucet but have yet to get a reply. With no one to call, we chose not to take a bath and took a quick shower without washing our hair. The second issue was the amenities. They are located a few miles away from the townhomes and the lake to rent kayaks is even farther. We drove to the rec center and its dumpy, the staff seemed a bit confused and not helpful with sharing how it works and what they have. The indoor pool was closed for maintenance and will be for least a week. This info was not shared to any of the guests. The games were all expensive and the Pool tables were not included either. The ping pong table only had one ball not dented and we had to go search for the paddles and ball. The resort was not worth the money and I won’t be returning.

"Mountain Retreat"

10.0

Great place. Beautiful views, loved the decks. Everything you need to cook in. Easy day trip to Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge TN, areas near Asheville (Lake Lure, Black Mountain). So many lakes and waterfalls to see. Must eat at MICA Restaurant right outside the registration driveway. Bravard nice town to visit.

"We had a great experience!"

10.0

My husband and I stayed at Foxhunt at Sapphire Valley for 3 nights mid May. We had a good experience. We stayed in one of the Foxhunt townhouses. It was clean and had everything we needed. The place was dated---older furnishings. But, that really isn't a problem with us. Whenever we travel, we are only in our unit to sleep. The furniture was comfy. The main thing for us is having a clean place---and we did. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, and pans, etc. However, we never ate in the unit. We only used the coffee machine and coffee cups. We ate at Mica's when we arrived. It is onsite and had good appetizers. We didn't eat at any of the other restaurants. The amenities were nice. We were about a 3 minute drive from the rec center where everything was located. We walked on the treadmill every day. Not a lot of people in the gym. There were 6 or 7 treadmills (plus other weights and equipment), so that was nice. The staff in the recreation center are very friendly and helpful. I would say for amenities, this place had some of the best that we've seen. They have an indoor pool, 3 outdoor pools, 2 hot tubs inside, gym, mini golf (we always enjoy that), a ropes course, and even a gem mining trough. We weren't expecting to be able to purchase a bag of dirt for $15 and getting to walk outside and mine for gems on our own. That was a lot of fun! We found some nice "gems". Nothing too valuable, but we didn't do it looking for expensive gems. There is a nice outdoor oval walking track and a also short trail along the creek through the woods. They have 2 enclosed dog parks--one for large dogs and one for small. Fairfield Lake is nearby and available for guests to fish and rent canoes, pedal boats, etc. We were there on a Sun-Wed, so unfortunately they weren't open to rent since it was off season. We understand that---no complaints. We definitely would like to go back to Foxhunt. It was just the two of us, but we could envision our 3 grandkids loving this place! Just a reminder that the townhouses have steps. No problem for us---we are in good physical shape. When you enter the unit, there is a bedroom (full bed and twin bed) and a bathroom with a shower. You take about 7 steps up and you are in the living/kitchen/dining area (with a wood-burning fireplace). Or you go down about 7 steps to the primary (master) bedroom with a full bath. The unit is more like a split level floor plan---short steps instead of full steps leading up and down. One thing to note---the primary (master) bath downstairs had a very deep jetted tub that was also a shower. I'm 5'2", so I really had to lift my leg up to get in it to the tub/shower. However, I could have easily showered in the upstairs bath if it was really a problem. All over the area there are beautiful waterfalls! When we checked in at Foxhunt, we received a helpful booklet that not only told about the Sapphire Valley Resort (which Foxhunt is a part of), but info about all of the waterfalls. We visited 3 while we were there---Whitewater Falls, Bridal Veil, and Dry Falls. Dry Falls was definitely our favorite! The Foxhunt location is good---about 3 miles east of Cashiers. Highlands (a really nice little town with lots of restaurants) is located about 25 miles to the west. We enjoyed spending an afternoon there---we highly recommend the Ugly Dog Public House for lunch and then ice cream at Kilwin's. Kudos to Highlands for having FREE parking all over town! We highly recommend this place. Nice and secluded---but with all the amenities that you would want! One last suggestion----we drove 2 hours through the beautiful mountains to go to the Andrews Valley Rail Tours. Check it out! Awesome experience....you will ride a railbike (electric pedal car) through the valley!
