Super 8 by Wyndham Alturas

What a nice, well manicured hotel, with beautiful flowers in hanging baskets from the balcony. So pretty and inviting. Parking lot well maintained along with the grounds. My second time here in a month and Mike, the GM is WONDERFUL and friendly, welcoming any questions you might have about the town. Did his best to find the best rate available to me. Very busy time at the hotel due to fire fighters and forest service employees in town. My room had two queen beds. The room was fresh smelling, floors were carpeted and clean. Plenty of lamps in the room and by the bedside. Bath tub in a separate room with the toilet. My only negative comment is that they have dispensers hanging in the shower/tub for shampoo and body wash. The shampoo was EMPTY, and it was a big container!!! I tried to see if I could take the kids off just to get enough to wash my hair once. I wasn't able to and looked on the underside of the dispensers and they had mildew on the bottom. Not sure how a housekeeper wouldn't notice this if they were thorough in their cleaning of the tub. But, only a small detail. The air conditioning worked just great and responded to the setting I put it on within seconds. Easy to operate and fast. This hotel has a little breakfast area behind the front desk with juices, cereal, coffee, fruit, yogurt, and muffins. Perfect for a quick bite to start the day. Mike had this area spotless the entire time it was open. Stocked and plentiful. Individual wrapped sliced bread for toast, with butter and jam. Friendly conversation from staff. There is a lot of pride displayed to the grounds and the staff. Well done!!!

Where do I start? The room is dated, and everything is old. The towels are not soft, not even a little bit. They had some stains and felt more like burlap. There was a red spot on my pillow that looked like blood. The bedspread was old and rather stinky. There was a chair in the room that had a peculiar whitish stain in the fabric right in the middle of the seat! My friend and I tried the continental breakfast. We ate different things, but we both drank the orange juice. We both had a stomach ache for that day. For the price we paid, this was a very disappointing stay.

Beautiful flower baskets brighten the motel grounds, comfortable generously sized on the ground floor. Staff provided recommendations on where to eat. Well done!

The hotel was right on the main path in and out of town. It's a good location that's not too far from anything

The bathroom sink leaked onto the floor below and into my suitcase. Also, the staff made two separate charges for our stay and didn't know how to reverse the second charge.
