Chapter House Boutique Hotel

We immediately fell in love with this property! The historic architecture, the gardens, the enveloping sense of welcome and peace were just what we needed. Rarely have we been so impressed with a property. Unfortunately we heard there are new owners and extensive renovations are planned. Very much hope they keep the historic charm as there are far too few of those around anymore.

All round Excellent, not a lot to say how do you expand on excellent.

Our flight was delayed and the hotel called us to confirm if indeed I was coming over. We arrived early hours of the morning and we were checked in. The room was upstairs with only roof windows, without any visible view except the sky. I overlooked this since we were not going to stay there all day,otherwise this should have been a deal breaker.

The property was quaint and clean with a gracious staff, lovely breakfast, wonderful porch and a room with a plunge pool. The WiFi doesn’t work in your room or on the property, only in the main section. Overall a really nice boutique hotel.

Walking distance to restaurants and galleries. Lovely staff, clean and comfortable. Good value.

We loved our stay! Breakfast was special and tasty. Staff was very kind and helpful! WiFi not great, but that is not why we went. Walked to dinner and shops.

The breakfast was fantastic! The common area is very friendly, clean and welcoming. Our room was just OK. The bed needs an update, it sagged and was as hard as a rock. The bathroom at first glance looked good, but then you notice the mold around the top of the shower. Plus the vent/fan was filthy! The water in our bathroom sink was brown, so we asked for bottled water. They ended up charging us for it! When I explained we needed the bottled water because their water was brown, my comment was dismissed by "Work is being done on pipes nearby." The hotel is in a great location to town, however, I will not be staying here again.

Very warm welcome from the caring and attentive staff to what is a charming colonial-style boutique hotel just 200m away from the Franschhoek high street. Lovely room with our own roof-top hot tub and a huge comfortable bed. Excellent breakfasts were cooked to order, and we sat overlooking the stunning lavender-filled garden.

The Boutique Hotel has great charm and history but we did not feel it was value for money.
