"green with envy"

8.0

Nice place on the far end of town so vehicle or a taxi are needed. staff and management are very polite. showers in room worked great..plenty of power. my one niggle would be the floors in my room looked like they had never been washed. so once you had a shower you had to aim for the mats otherwise feet would be mucky. other than that a great place to stay.

"Great hotel for couples."

Beautiful architecture and Luscious landscape. Extremely Friendly and Helpful staff. Very good detailing. Towels in duck form with a few natural petals on top of the bed. The bathroom faucet made from a snail and sea shells.

"Cozy and Welcoming"

10.0

Green Tulum is just as advertised, a cute, little eco-themed set of cabanas. They were neat and clean and sprinkled with flower petals as we walked in... nice touch. The furnishings are simple and quite rustic, in line with the eco-friendly theme. But, where Green Tulum stood out was the attention by the the staff. The property manager was authentically concerned about our comfort. He answered all our questions about the region helped us book a trip to the bioreserve nearby, even though it took a few tries due to some of them being booked. In fact, when the tour came to pick us up at the hotel, a few of the other tourists commented on how cute our hotel was and wanted to know about it. The biggest drawback is that it's a decent walk to Tulum, probably 10 minutes along the side of the road to get to the start of the main strip of shops and restaurants. We didn't mind it much, but definitely something to be aware of.

"Good Town and Country"

8.0

This hotel is a series of 2 story cabanas on the edge of the town of Tulum. The pros: within walking distance of downtown without the noise of bars and night life, you are literally in the jungle. We had a second story room with a large porch looking out on the lush jungle and pool. It was great for reading, playing cards and doing nothing. There is no TV in the room, which I like, but its not for everyone, but there is strong free WiFi The staff was amazing, despite having there own bar, they lent us glasses when we bought our own booze, they have private, secure parking that is watched by a night monitor and helpful advice about where to eat and what to see in the area . The cons: There are vents built into the walls, so there is no way to block out the country noises and the sound of the occasional big trucks on the highway a quarter mile away. When it got unseasonably cold, so did the room, but they had plenty of blankets to pile on at night. In the morning, the jungle wakes up at 7 am including, chickens, turkeys, squawking crow-like birds and song birds. I'm a light sleeper so it woke me up, but my wife slept right through. Its a good blend of jungle isolation within easy walking distance of the strip in town. Quiet and rustic.

"Fun Cabana Stay"

8.0

I went with my boyfriend for 4 nights, and we loved the place! Granted, when we showed up after dark and not being able to find it the first night, I was wishing it was something a little more than it was. It's like sleeping outside; there's a mosquito net over the bed, and you must sleep with the windows open to get any sort of circulation (no A/C). If I'd been prepared for that, I would've liked it from the get-go. Other reviews complain about the manager, but we found him to be very nice and helpful, even making sure we were awake for our early morning flight on the day we left. We ate breakfast every day. The outdoor eating area is nice. The pool was beautiful, but we were too busy with the beach and other things to really take advantage of it. If we'd stayed for longer, we decided we could have done a whole day at the cabanas just lounging around. Each cabana has a hammock and small table with stools on the front porch. We loved this! We had beers outside two of our four nights, and took several naps in the hammock. The place sells water, beer, and cokes on site, so if you really don't want to leave for the day, you don't have to. The gardens were beautiful; very tropical. It is far from town and even farther from the beach, so I'd recommend renting a car or scooter during your stay. Even bikes could be tiring, especially after a dinner and night out; we couldn't imagine trying to bike back. Biking to the beach would've been out of the question for us. The hot water tank definitely could be bigger; we only had hot water in the mornings, but that said, we did have it every morning. Overall, a very enjoyable stay! We're ready to go back!

"An emerald oasis!"

10.0

We loved staying at Green Tulum. I'm almost reluctant to say because I could keep it as OUR little secret! But since I loved the people who work there, for their sake, I will share! :# The entire place felt like an oasis. Seriously. Every 2 story palapa is circled around a beautiful little pool #immaculately cleaned everyday#, and enveloped in lush greenery and flowers! Everytime we arrived back at Green Tulum after a day site-seeing, snorkeling, in the heat of the day, it was like walking into shangrala, sheltered, cool, beautiful and quiet. In fact, the first few days we were the only patrons, so it felt like we had our own private villa! And the room was gorgeous. We had the 2nd floor with our own hammock on the balcony #well, ALL rooms have hammocks!) which I enjoyed resting on every day. And wi-fi! Can't beat that. The only thing I would say about this little gem is that it is not right in town, nor anywhere near the beach, so having a car is an asset, or at least to rent bikes. They only do breakfast, which is very basic. So if you go to Green Tulum, you will need to come in and out of it in order to eat! Lucky us, we had a car, and so it wasn't an issue at all, and would happily go back there again. Great for a couple! Very romantic and quiet.

"Not as expected."

4.0

The lock system on the door was flimsy. You couldn't lock the door with out a key from the inside. We spent too much time looking for the key in order to get out of the room. No privacy. You could see the light through the ceiling of the cabana upstairs, and hear EVERYTHING. The hotel is out of town in not a very nice area. I did not feel safe.

"Can't believe this was so pricey"

2.0

Really awful!, next to a car wash and gas station and out of town, not near the beach, rude staff. Intensely toxic chlorine pool And noise all night. All kinds of disgruntled people not having their reservations, cold sores on lips of the breakfast server touching everyday thing, etc. nest to creepyolice check point. Far from the beach. No dinner, lunch or even crackers available.

"Only for people who love nature"

6.0

This is a beautiful small place in the middle of A beautiful garden with a nice pool. The room is a cabin and you are as close to nature As can be! Only for people who love sleeping in the nature. The room has no air conditior. You can have breackfast. It's a bit far from everything but if you Have a car it's ok. Enjoy.
