"Nice hotel at the top of town."

Pool lovely and open 9am to 9pm. Room was big and clean, bed comfortable and shower hot. Courtyard area near pool was lovely, 15 to 20 min walk to the malecon. Parking out front.

The fridge in the room was noisy and kicked in randomly throughout the night. It's too big to move to unplug. The included breakfast is only a croissant, coffee and fruit so I got 1 slice of toast as they were out of croissants and a few cubes of melon and pineapple. Any buffet or menu items were extra, which was disappointing given the room price and I ended up going out the next day to a local eaterie.

"A decent hotel for the price for a short one-day stopover."

Staff speak English, quiet area, plenty of power sockets.

It is located far from the waterfront and restaurants (it takes 15-20 minutes to walk there). The room is simple, and the pool is smaller than it appears in the photo. Excursion services (in our case, whale watching) cost twice as much as if you walk along the waterfront and negotiate with local operators.
