Arctic Nature Hotel

My family of 4 stayed here 1 night after finishing driving around the Golden Circle. We chose to stay in Selfoss instead of going back to Reykjavik since we were driving along south coast the next AM to Hofn. Fosstun Apt Hotel is a few blocks south of the Ring Road. The units are simple but clean motel style units with a kitchenette (stovetop, microwave, refrigerator). The kitchenette was important to us as it was far cheaper to buy food at the Kronans grocery in town and eat in the room. Although calling the units apartments is an overstatement, the space was adequate (had to move coffee table to open sofabed). Room had 2 twin beds which were firm. Soundproofing was limited so you could hear noise from adjoining units (recurring theme in Iceland). For a healthier food option, I recommend Yellow, a restaurant in the same building as Kronans at the main traffic circle. Yellow serves Asian themed bowls - choose the protein, the starch (noodles, brown rice, or sweet potatoes), and the sauce (Satay, green curry, or tandoori).

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Only one cons is there is some smell in the rest room sometimes. It is only sometimes.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Reception had loads of brochures that was very helpful. Good size apt and washroom. Shower stall doors did not close tightly and so water leaked all over floor. Windows did not close all the way and so it was a little noisy.

Really nice place, with super comfy beds

This place is amazing for the price. Location is great for touring the golden circle and south Iceland. Kitchen was great, we were able to cook most meals and save $$$. Clean, spacious, modern, quiet.

pros: friendly and helpful staff, convenient location with lots of shops nearby cons: no bathtub or shower, whole bathroom is wet after a shower

Enjoyed the night at fosstun apartment! Im not sure if i ran into staff or the owner of the apartment but she was very nice and told me where to head to see northern light at night. Apartment was very spacious and in clean condition.

We loved the room, this like having your own small apartment.

Great apartment, walking distance from shops, restaurants and swimming pool in Selfoss and good base for a couple of days outside Reykjavik. Apartment was open plan so not good if you want separation between the living room and bedroom.
