Lovely large warm room and excellent bathroom and fresh milk in fridge

Beautiful Room (Manor Room) lovely decoration, huge bed and spacious.

Noise - Room 8 was directly above reception and although it was a stunning room, you can hear every noise in reception from the staff talking to noisy guests retiring from the residents bar. It was probably accentuated by the fact it was Christmas party season and there were a higher number of inebriated guests than normal!

Reception staff were very friendly, informative and professional. Lovely Christmas decorations. Our room was wonderful, really grand and magical, there was a wee dram offered (although we don't drink whiskey), the book cabinet had books which are hundreds of years old - really fascinating. The grounds were lovely, with lots of ducks and swans in the ponds. The old bar cave was pretty special, we liked hearing about the hotel's history from reception. A limited but tasty menu and good breakfast selection. And lastly, a very good cocktail selection.

Room was a little cold on arrival and took time to heat up. Bathroom is a little dated, but we were told that they are due renovations. TV in the room is on the small side. Room was above dining hall and could hear staff setting up breakfast in the early hours. Dining server(s) were a little awkward. Starter was served before we received our drinks. Didn't feel that the food quality matched the cost.

Beautiful historical hotel set in extensive picturesque grounds. Great food & wonderful staff which are a credit to the hotel.

Everything. Room 407 was amazing. When I come back I want that room. The scenery. The helpful staff who dug us out in the snow. Breakfast was amazing. Really enjoyed the stay. Be back for sure

Just the fact we had to leave was the worst thing about it. Could live in room 407 no bother

Room was beautiful, bed was very comfy

Service in the bar/ restaurant. Could only offer peanuts or 3 course meal. Bartender was understaffed. Peanuts never arrived. Had to go to room and order a sandwich from room service. Check in at reception was not very welcoming, however staff at check out were lovely.
