Combe House Hotel

Location, nice relaxed feel. Spacious, nicely decorated room.

The hotel and staff were fantastic. The hotel as a whole is in a beautiful quiet setting all very well maintained. The room was spotless, cosy and comfortable. We booked to eat in the restaurant in the evening and the food was amazing. They didnt have a kids menu however the staff were happy to make something child friendly. The breakfast (continental) was included in the price and again was well set out with plenty of variety with the added option to pay for additional cooked foods. Would happily stay again if ever visiting the area. Excellent value for money!

The hotel is a lovely building in a charming location. We have stayed here before but were very disappointed this time. We went out for dinner with our family who live locally which was very enjoyable.

We booked a superior double room with an extra large king size bed for 2 nights. We had booked some weeks in advance. I know a number of the rooms and was excited to know which one we would get. I was very disappointed. I did ask to move rooms but this was not possible. The room could barely fit in the bed. We had very little space for our luggage. It felt like we were constantly walking around the bed. The en suite was dark and not very welcoming. The heated towel rail did not work. We had dinner at the hotel the 1st night. You could not choose your table. The table we were allocated had a very sticky surface. Our arms would stick if laid on the surface and we had to unstick the glasses from the surface. Breakfast was included in the booking. However, if you wanted a cooked breakfast you had to pay extra. The wifi is very poor but you can pay for their satellite connection. We did not do this but were charged. It was taken off the bill. I commented on leaving that I had been very disappointed with the room. I was told that this is the room allocated if you book through Booking.com !
