"A Great Place To Stay"

10.0

Great service from beginning to end. They even accommodated our odd travel schedule and their driver picked us up at the airport at 6 AM one day and dropped us off at 10 PM when we were going out. All for no extra charge. Helpful staff We had a great time from Wayne and family

"Worst place to stay!"

2.0

We stayed here in July 2009 and booked this hotel based on the description and pictures on the website and the price at the time of booking. As we were all students we weren't expecting anything too fancy but this place was horrific. We originally had two rooms, both on the ground floor, one was dark and smelled disgusting while the other one was very small with a double bed and a set of very old bunk beds crammed in. The group in the first room complained to management and were moved to a slightly better room on a different floor. Having gotten over the initial shock of the place we were all happy that the pool area seemed nice. This was not the case. The pool was quite dirty and the staff who were meant to clean it, were seen on more than one occasion, throwing beer bottles into the pool that were then left in it. We quickly realised that the size of the room wasn't the only problem; the bathroom was so dark that it was almost impossible to see anything, even with the light on and when someone used the shower it would flood the whole bathroom and the water would run out into the bedroom under the door. The lighting was extremely poor, once it started to get dark it made it very hard to see what you were doing. As mentioned previously, our room was located on the ground floor. Our balcony faced out towards the pool and anyone was able to hop over the balcony (which wasn't very high) and open the sliding door which was not very secure. One night when we were in our room someone tried to open the main door into our room using a key, this made us even more worried about the safety of our personal belongings. As a result of this we would lock away any important belongings in a suitcase before going anywhere. The staff were very rude and unfriendly and provided no assistance to us when we struggled up the steep steps to the reception with our suitcases, in the end another resident staying in the hotel offered to help us. On a couple of occasions when we were sitting on our balcony, the staff who were 'cleaning' the pool area shouted unpleasant remarks at us and were very unprofessional. Overall this hotel was a disaster, I would not recommend it to anyone. The facilities and staff leave a lot to be desired. If you do end up here, on the plus side the bus stop is just outside so you can spend as little time in the place as possible.

"Diabolical!! Abandon hope all who enter here...."

2.0

Due to flight cancellation we were to be put up at this "hotel" overnight by our airline. To our horror the room we were given was already occupied by alternative guests - the resident cockroaches! The room was far from clean. The bathroom had an over powering stench of the sewers, such that I almost collapsed and my friend was physically sick. The corridors had the distincive aroma of a male public lavatory. Grafitti adorned the doors. Our room overlooked the swamp/pool, which could only be described as a breeding ground for disease. The hotel gave an overall impression of neglect and apathy. The receptionist appeared resigned to it all and did not appear in the least suprised when we checked out as soon. as possible!

"It Sucks"

4.0

This was not a good place to stay. I never swam in the pool or ate there. I only slept on the uncomfortable bed. I barely spoke to anybody who worked there. It is old and lacking in charm, poorly located, poor amenities, poor service. I can't actually think of anything good to say. I just slept there and spent every day out and about on my motorbike because the hotel was horrible.

"Great Location"

8.0

Anny Hotel, is a great place. Good pool at the sea facing side porch. Rooms are ok (not great). We had aprobelm with the air conditioning initially. Bathrooms have no/very little exhaust system. Staff was great, and helped a lot in getting us the best of our trip experience in terms of roaming aroud and helping with maps n all.

"Terrible, don't stay here!"

2.0

The staff were not very friendly or helpful at the front desk. The rooms were awful! We were placed in the basement where all the rooms had this terrible smell of sewage and damp. They were also dark and very cramped. It was literally choking. We thought we could put up with it but I ended up getting sick from the smell. We managed to change rooms to a slightly bigger one but the smell was still in the room. There was also no working telephone in the rooms, no TV and the location wasn't great as you had to catch buses to everywhere. Luckily we were able to buy food at the supermarket across the road and at the corner bakery. The pool didn't look clean so we didn't even bother with it. We met other guests and they all complained about the smell, it seemed to come up the shower drains so there must be a big sewer problem. It's overpriced for what you get, don't stay here at all!

"BIG disappointment AND overpriced."

2.0

Definitely do not book this hotel. It would be ok if it wasn't so overpriced for what is offered. There are so many hotels in better parts of Santorini for much cheaper (as I found out when I left this hotel for another after one day). This hotel is not only very ordinary, it is also located in an extremely isolated area and the only way to get anywhere, is by bus. Nothing within walking distance. There is NOTHING positive about this place.

"Don´t go there!!!"

2.0

We are a familiy of 4 people, the boys are now 12 and 15 years. We have travelled different places in Greece for the last 10 years. We were aware that because Hotel Anny was situated away from the sea, we made a depend that the hotel should have a good pool for the boys. We were assigned to at room in the basement, smelling disgusting of sewer and moisture, the interieur was very worn out and the room was situated beside rubbish. The pool was unacceptabel dirty and the poolbar was hided behind boards. We went to the reception, we complained about the room and after some time, we were assigned to another room, also in the basement and not better than the other room. We are not just a young couple, we have 2 children to take care of and this condition we just couldn´t do to them. The result of a lot af phonecalls: the manager of the hotel refused to pay us our money (515 euro) back. Instead he offered us 2 nights at his hotel Anny in Perissa. We waited for several hours to get a transport by the hotel bus from Messaria to Perissa. In Perissa, we were assigned to a room like the one in Messaria, in the basement, with coakroaches, worn out interieurs, a rusty refrigerator who couldn´t close and the drains were clogged up. We stayed only one night and for the rest 6 days of our holiday we had to pay for another hotel. On the internet the describtion says:;"If you want your holidays to be comfortable and luxurious, our hotel will surely meet up to your standards. Marvellous swimmingpool, rooms with seaview." After our holiday we have tried to complain to the manager of the hotel, to get some money refund, but get´s no answers.... Don´t stay there.....

"Shafted..."

2.0

We booked a stay at Anny Studios (apparently 20m from the beach) and was given a room at Hotel Anny in the middle of the island, far far away from anywhere remotely useful. Payment was up front so by the time we realised where we were it was too late to get a refund. The pool was green and there was a bar next to it, however it's hours seem to be governed by the person behind the bar. Supermarket across the road seemed to save the day. Staff seemed to think that there was no difference between a hotel on the beach and one miles from it. Forget about it. Stick with some hotel where you know there's only one location.

"Perfect location but staff need work"

6.0

When we arrived we did not feel greeted or welcomed. The lady gave us trouble about using credit cards and we would have to pay 100% more for her to accept a credit card payment. So nevermind we paid in cash. Then you basically don't see any staff because they are watching tv in one of the suites, not at the check-in counter. The room was nice, it had a kitchenette, and a balcony. Nothing spectacular. I woule have to say the only great thing about this place is that it's location was great! The beach was right there! But Perissa is gorgeous! It has black hot sand and it is amazing! The restaurant in front of Anny studios is beach front and has wonderful service and food! Charlina Restaurant. They gave us complemetary wine, ouzo, and desert! Absolutely wonderful. There were also bon-fires on the beach at night and good pubs to go and relax. We went on a tour to the volcano and the hot springs, it was great! But I would recommend only going to the volcano and hot springs, and not to the island after that. We did and you are basically stuck on this island for 2 hours just so that you spend some money on the island. And all there is to do for 2 hours is sit on the rocky beach have lunch at a restaurant and nothing beyond that. Yes don't get m wrong it is beautiful but definitly 2 hours is way too long to be there! So if you can just do the volcano and hot springs and that's it! I didn't get a chance to go to Akrotiri, it is closed on Mondays. But we did talk to some other people ho did make it and they said it was kind of a waste because at the moment there is construction all around it so you can't really see anything very well. The bus to Fira is very easy and to get to the Port you do have to go into Fira and then take another bus back to the Port. Although we didn't do that, we just took the bus from Perissa and got out at the Port drive and took a cab down to the Port. The bus to Fira is about 3euro and also 3euro back down to the Port. Whereas the bus to the Port drive is 1euro, and the taxi was 5euro. Eventhough it all works out to cost the same the differnce is the time you waste going into Fira just to go back the same way towards the Port.
