"Great Place to Stay in Gettysburg"

Very comfortable room and terrific breakfast! While all the staff were all very friendly, Melanie really elevated the experience through her delicious cooking and her stories about personal ghost encounters.

"Wonderful, Historic Inn with Friendly Staff"

10.0

We stayed here for our short weekend trip to Gettysburg and attend the Fields of Fury reenactment event at the Daniel Lady farm and had an absolutely wonderful time. First, just staying in the historic building of the Welty house on the Brickhouse Inn property was amazing. There are even visible bullet marks on the outside of the building from the war, and old photos that show the Welty house in the background when President Lincoln visited. The staff is very friendly and was attentive to our needs. They were quick to join us when the opportunity arose and get to know us better as well as share their own stories. The Inn is in a nice location and while on a busy street, the noise was not bad and never went too late at night. Many shops and restaurants are within walking distance and we took advantage of that to see more of the town. A really fun place, a wonderful historic inn, with lots to learn if you’re a history buff like we are. Plus, so many ghost tours! We didn’t have time for that so want to visit again soon and book one. Special shout out to Sam, Sammie, and another staff member (I can’t remember her name but she was an expert on Jenny Wade’s history), and the wonderful woman who cooked breakfast each morning. They especially made us feel welcome. A highly recommended place to stay!

"Had a great stay at the Brickhouse."

10.0

Had a great stay at the Brickhouse. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Sam was a great host and Hannah made sure we were taken care of and was there for any questions we had. We did breakfast in bed the first morning and it was very good. We highly recommend the brickhouse and make sure that you do a tour!

"Brickhouse Inn"

10.0

While in Gettysburg we stayed at the Brickhouse Inn right in the middle of of the area. The in is decorated in period style furnishings and the rooms were very comfortable. The staff is very accommodating and was very helpful with our plans. In the morning we had a delicious and very relaxing breakfast in the dinning room. Great place to stay.

"B with no B"

6.0

We booked late in the day and didn't realize as the booking was completed that breakfast is an optional add on fee. We understand not being able to add it on the night before but for the overall room cost with no breakfast included, it's not worth the price. A little after 8am, we went to get coffee and tea. The set up is in the dining room so we stood by people being served breakfast while we fixed our mugs. It would be nice if the coffee and hot water setup is in the parlor, separated. There was coffee mate and I asked for half and half. The lady serving breakfast said yes with an eye roll as if it was a pain to get that. The coffee tasted flavored so I fixed a second cup using the Keurig and then she says there's coffee in the dispenser as if she didn't want me to use it. The grab and go breakfast option is prepackaged stuff. A coffee cake or something made in house would have been nice. We sat in the parlor for a few minutes and heard the back and forth banter with the people being served and eating breakfast. That made us feel like second rate guests since we didn't qualify to be included. Maybe change the name to just Brickhouse Inn. We've stayed at many BnB's and have booked both in advance and last minute, none have ever been breakfast optional and we've never been excluded. The room itself smelled awful. Yes, it's an old building full of intriguing history but the musty smell was overwhelming. There were other options nearby for less $. Also, the building is on a main road and the road noise is a lot for people who may want something quieter. The high reviews are perplexing. We stayed in the Welty house and no ghosts joined us.

Lovely place to stay, centrally located! You can walk everywhere from The Brickhouse Inn. Our room was very clean and fresh. Sam and Joseph greeted us and were very helpful. The best part of our stay was breakfast! It was delicious and chatting with the staff was great. Totally recommend!
