Hotel Las Nubes Holbox

We loved the Property. Our room was amazing. The food options are limited and the service can be quite slow. Two meals were at the Beach location. Both were great tasting meals. With one, the service was very slow. The other, the service was very fast. We had dinner at the restaurant one evening. The restaurant was very hot, after asking, it took over 20 minutes just to get a glass of water, and the food was overcooked and bland.

So the location and the closeness to the ocean was fantastic. The service was OK - the facility is clearly old and not well maintained. The cleaning group left our room unlocked after they left one day, and some items were "missing". We asked them to not clean for remainder of the trip. large gap between the door and the floor allowed bugs to come in.

I wish we could say better things. But weeks later, the hotel still hasn’t honored or followed up on their commitments. We ended up having to go through our bank to dispute charges. Three different employees permitted us to leave our reservation 3 days early and we would get word our refund confirmation by Monday. NEVER AGAIN HEARD FROM ANYONE. After two days of exploring we realized there are better accommodations right down the street and for less. Their restaurant was very subpar. You don’t really have the beach you go there for close. The ‘suite’ was two rooms one with no sink or water divided into to locations. The Spa attendants were amazing. Has potential but for the money there are MUCH better options on Holbox. Keep researching. Disappointed.

Trying to be fair, but this is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Las Nubes de Holbox is old, dirty, and seriously understaffed. The photos on their website are extremely misleading, clearly taken many years ago. The hotel no longer looks anything like what is advertised. Their so-called beach club is not actually on the beach. You have to cross a swampy puddle that smells terrible and is full of mosquitoes. After that, you reach a rocky shore that has nothing to do with the stunning beaches Holbox is known for. I’ll leave photos for reference. What they call a beach club is just a few old, rusted, and filthy beds. Again, photos will speak for themselves. The room I was given looked nothing like the photos either. I found a giant scorpion inside my shoe and it almost stung me twice. I went to the front desk for help, not even knowing if I had been stung, and they had no emergency kit. Not even the basics. No one apologized or showed any concern. I understand we’re in the jungle, but the scorpion was in the room because clearly the space is not well maintained. The room was old, dusty, and forgotten, which is likely why the scorpion was even there. The next day, after all that, they just offered to switch my room and gave me a welcome cocktail as an apology. (Lol). There is not enough staff in this hotel. You always have to wait a long time at the restaurant, and service in general is very slow. The included breakfast is a joke. It’s eggs every day, tasteless eggs.

Overall, our stay was decent. A friend recommended Nubes and was raving about it but I thought service was very minimal. Breakfast was included but each meal was missing an item... ran out of spinach for the eggs, no juice one day, and no bread the following. The banana bread was prob the best I've ever had so I was disappointed they didn't have any bread at all on the last breakfast. The iguanas were a bit aggressive and wanting food too... one crawled up our legs... The room was pretty spacious and bed was comfy. I appreciate the thicker blanket and working air conditioning! I really appreciated communication via Whatsapp.. especially because you can message ahead to request a taxi. Since Las Nubes is located at the end of the strip, it does take some time for a taxi to arrive. There were a few lizards in our room but it's island life. Just a warning for those who don't like reptiles. Lol.

0/10 stars if I could. The hotels was under construction but that’s not advertised anywhere. 2 of the 3 pools were closed the entire time. All we heard all day was hammering and jackhammers. The lights kept going off. The spa services advertised are not actually offered on site. Don’t even get me started on the service. 45 minutes to make eggs and bacon. An hour to make cheese fries and they were still raw. I complained and the manager didn’t even acknowledge us the following day. Would never recommend this place.

Very disappointing stay at Las Nubes We 2 couples recently stayed at Las Nubes in Holbox and we are sorry to say that our expectations were not met at all and even worse it was the worst stay we have ever experienced. 1. we have never experienced such incompetent hotel management including the management! 2. the service was more than very disappointing. The staff were practically always inattentive and overwhelmed. It took a long time for us to be served and we were often ignored when we made requests. 3. the cleanliness of our room also left a lot to be desired. There was dust and dirt, some cleaning was even forgotten and the bathroom fittings were not in an acceptable condition. I had the feeling that not enough attention was paid to hygiene here. 4. in addition, the room facilities were not as described. The air conditioning did not work properly, towels were tattered and smelly, everything was very dirty and broken. 5. construction site noise during the day and at night a defective air conditioning system with cockroaches visiting zero relaxation 6. pool quality was so bad that we got skin rashes and eye infections. 7. the breakfast offered was an absolute impertinence without words. 8. the whole hotel infrastructure was so bad that we spent our whole day including breakfast in another hotel. (with expenses) 9. when we came home in the evening from about 10pm to 11:30pm the whole resort was without a license. The crowning glory was on departure when we politely asked for help with the suitcases and the answer was a very sobering NO! Instead, they watched us carry them and there was no farewell. The location of the hotel is nice, but that alone cannot make up for the massive shortcomings in service & management and cleanliness. We had hoped for a relaxing stay, but unfortunately this was not the case. I hope that the owner takes this feedback seriously and makes immediate improvements so that future guests can have a better experience otherwise we see no economic future for this hotel!
