National 9 Santa Cruz

Fantastic location, very clean, and super friendly staff! This is one of the best lower cost motels in Santa Cruz. When I was searching, I was looking for cleanliness above everything else and this place hit that mark especially for the price! The bed was a bit older, everything was bolted down, but again was CLEAN, could walk bare footed with no worries... and best of all no bed bug worries!!

Our stay was facilitated by early check-in time (starts at 1:00 pm.) Also, I loved the giant soaker tub! Our room had both a microwave and very good refrigerator. This motel was a great value at a low price for the region. The decor is dated, but the room was clean and there was adequate on-site parking, which is a huge plus. For us, the location was perfect, but others may be bothered by road noise as it is very close to the freeway and a major surface street. Overall, one of our best motel experiences in Santa Cruz.

The attendant was Impeccable. Checked in and got to my room within 3 minutes. I forgot my Charger for my phone and the Attendant had one there.

The facility offered good basic accommodations that were clean and well maintained. It has no frills but everything worked. The desk attendant was very helpful with directions and information. No coffee in the room or free breakfast but the price was competitive.

Checking in was very difficult because the lady at the counter wouldn't give my husband a key because he was the second name on the room. check in was two hours before we got there and she said "I do have a room available for you but it isn't clean yet". Pretty sure that means there isn't a room ready. So after waiting over 5 minutes we finally get a key to a room and I decided to shower. There were towels with makeup still on them. She never told us the wifi password and there wasn't any hotel information around the room. It had a sketchy wobbly fan and the decor was being at grandmas house. The TV was staticky except for the Spanish channels. I'm amazed this hotel is even aloud to have business.

First at all the guy at the counter, was so rude, when He ask me if I know by hard my license plates, I said not sure, and with my adress He was so piss because my current address doesn't match with my drivers license, And for those reason what is so stupid He said I can give you a room just like that.And the rooms anyways there duty and poor cleaning, smeling, I don't recommend that place.

Older motel, for price, worth it. Refrigerator , microwave, and air conditioner working. Room clean. Management friendly. One car one space for room , since it is very small. Pool small but open . Not ritzy by any means but comfortable and affordable. Across the street from a Denny's and office offers Danish and coffee in the morning. If you want a clean , no frills , place to crash while enjoying the beach, this is it. Price may seem a little high for a place like this, but if you know anything about the area and prices of hotels and rooms in their busy season, it is reasonable . If comfortable , basic , reasonable price, and clean is not what u are looking for then break the bank and go for swank. Management is a friendly and accommodating as higher priced places , so that gave it a little extra plus in my book. Also saw linen services picking up here , so linens and sheets ect. Are not done on premises but through professional service. Happy beach trip travels, I hope this review helps. Also there is an enterprise rental car real close as well.

Pillows were rather flat. Parking lot crowded. Pool is quite small.

A great value without a lot of unnecessary amenities.
