Durham Motor Inn

The motel is well past due for renovation ( or demolition? ) A fact we discovered at checking in time. The condition was not worth the nightly rate imo but Tauranga did not have much else to offer sadly.

Badly needs an upgrade to make it a genuine 4 star motel. We continue to use it only for it's proximity to the CBD

I enjoyed my experience at Durham, the staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. My room had all the basic amenities i required and had an amazing spa bath. My shower was an older model and had unsteady flooring as was the couch. These were minor observations and my stay was still very enjoyable and pleasant and the staff went out of their way to provide a great service.

Convenient location to central city. Stayed before and happy to recommend

Value for money, not an expensive place to stay but handy to Tauranga city, just down the road to drive to the Mount. For what we wanted I would stay here again.

It was in a great location, everywhere we wanted to go was walking distance. Unfortunately the room was in dire need of refurbishment. The surface clean was ok. However, if you looked at the ceiling fans and grooves in the shower door frame not a pleasant sight - in ground dirt.

Functional motel in a good location but certainly a bit tired. Not terrible by any stretch, but just let down by some things being broken or missing (broken chair, no rubbish bin in kitchen etc). TV channel options not great. Also free internet was useless and lasted about 2 minutes.

We were quite happy with the Durham. The location is just a stroll from the waterfront restaurants etc. The room was a bit tired but apparently the are being refurbished very soon, this may even be underway now. The shower was very small but there's a big spa bath, I guess you can only fit so much.
