The Legacy River Kwai Resort

Everything! All of the staff were super friendly and happy to talk about their area of expertise. The room is rustic but clean, comfortable and quiet. The area is huge, lovely to walk or bike around. You can rent bicycles. You can see the elephants every afternoon as they come to bathe, it is a hands-off elephant sanctuary to promote and protect wellbeing of these rescued elephants. You can also do other activities such as feed chickens and ducks, feed sheep, rent SUP boards etc. everything is done so well, we stayed two nights and could have easily stayed longer. There's a small playground, football pitch, swimming pool and lovely restaurant on the river. We will definitely be back again soon!

WiFi didn't work very well in bungalow, but it's a nice place to disconnect from technology anyway.

ruhige Lage

das Frühstück (Auswahl) war ziemlich überschaubar. die Unterkunft ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

If you like living close to neature, this place is for you.

Slow Wifi

Location is ok if you have your own car, which we didn't have. Good for visiting the Somboom Legacy Foundation. But to visit other attractions it is easier to arrange from Kachanaburi then from the resort.

Set right on the banks of the River Kwai, you could not ask for a more idyllic location.

The chalet style cabins look like they've seen better days. Its understandable that nature tends to eat man-made things in this part of the world, but patch-up work on bathroom elements seemed perfunctory and a bit shoddy. A broken shower attachment did not help.
