Fernie Stanford Resort

Room was as depicted - clean, beds were comfy and the room was very spacious. Our room was on the 2nd level, but this is actually the main level as the hotels first level is partially below ground. Our view was towards the river instead of to the highway which was pleasant, but the parking lot is right outside the window so there's a loss of privacy. The location is right off the highway so it was easy to find and its only a few minutes drive to the main street of Fernie to visit restaurants and shops, and the ski-hill is also a short distance away. The pool and slide is amazing, and the sauna and outdoor hot tub were a nice treat. We were able to utilize the pool and sauna mid-day and avoid most of the children staying here, which made these spaces actually peaceful and feel sanitary during the time we used the pool and slide, otherwise it was chaos in the evening with families enjoying the amenities. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Rooms are a bit dated and could use an upgrade but overall are just fine - the value of the hotel suggests this. The continental breakfast was very sad, we ate all our meals offsite - it offered some pre-packaged baked goods, a cereal station, waffle press, apples and oranges, coffee and juices. Unless you show up immediately all the "good" items are gone and there didn't seem to be much replenishing of things (we heard there was yogurt and hardboiled eggs but never saw them). The suites aren't particularly sound-proof, we could hear the stomps of children running down the hallways at all hours and we could hear/feel the sound and reverberation of suite doors slamming shut from the bed which was disruptive at times. Very very very family friendly hotel, so it's not the most ideal for adults to enjoy (especially if you don't have children) as the hot tub, pool, and sauna area will became quickly overrun with children. There are suites directly facing the hot tub and while we were trying to relax a child started throwing icicles at us from their balcony...

Really like the sauna and how it got upto the proper heat, the pool and hot tub were great as well. Room was great. The breakfast was also appreciated

The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpfull, they wanted we to feel restfull and not to worry about anything! This was very nice and we just enjoyed a lot the stay at the hotel. Well, we did not think about something like that. Actually we did like everything. :)

The staff was very helpful and friendly. Thanks to Sandy for his kindness when we checked in, he was great. My boys are older now, but they still really enjoyed the pool and the waterslide. We really enjoyed the outdoor hot tub!

The free breakfast was very basic, but we liked the pancakes and waffles makers.

Best pool and waterslide in town. Kids and grown ups had a blast! Outdoor hot tub was lovely too.
