The Red Lion Hotel

Room was lovely and large. Very clean! Fan in room and blanket on bed. Extra pillows. Great tray of coffee, tea and hot chocs and biscuits which is very generous and thoughtful. However, my bed was very hard and very creakey. I didn't get back to my room till late and showered so by the time I laid out on it, it was already gone 1am. So only the bed was a let down. Room and staff was great so would still recommend for price and location.

The bed very hard, uncomfortable and creakey. Also couldn't have just the bed side lamps on in the room when I tried, as no buttons just on them so main light seemed to be linked to them. And couldn't seem to get the shower to turn to cold no matter how I tried. Fab hair dryer though!!!

Perfectly located for us as we were seeing a show at The South Holland Centre.

The lady at reception advised us, as we were checking in that we should probably open our window and put something in to keep it open (room number 22) as “your room is going to be hot, it’s just had new windows”. It was so hot (must be under floor piping or something?) that we could not sleep, despite following the “advice” of jarring the window open- before we went out to the show, so air had had time to get in - we were so so hot we could not sleep. It was as not to be blamed on any weather, it was some heating issue and it was just un bearable. Without water in the room or a fan - despite knowing it was going to be hot for us, none of these steps had been taken…we decided to give up and checked out at about 6.15am on the Sunday morning. It was meant to be a little romantic treat away. We dove home and got straight into bed.

Red Lion Hotel exceeded my expectations. Room was perfect, atmosphere at the pub was lovely. Congratulations, I will come back!

Fabulous rooms, looks to be recently renovated, bathroom not as modern but still ok. I got the bedroom Jimi Hendrix stayed in and the photos up was a nice touch!

Little loud in the morning with the delivery at 8am so lots of banging, I didn’t mind it though.

Clean and convenient. Good pub below
